IK36,
shall send you the pictures once i have one installed...you can decide if she looks cute from that angle of the camera. And probably also decide if what she does with the kids is human¨

Actually, what camera angle do you have in mind? You are not some kind of a pervert are you?

Re: nanny cameras

Why would you fit hidden cameras - do you feel that the children are not being looked after properly, or do you suspect the nanny of taking liberties?
If the former was the case then the nanny should be history IMO

Totally make sense but if you want to get her punish for what she does, you need proof.

Otherwise she'll do what ever she does elsewhere.

Re: nanny cameras

why not just hang around for a few days and see for yourself? i don't know but i have an issue with recording someone's movements through the day without them knowing. if you really suspect her of something, just get rid of her or ask her about it. if it's really bad don't hesitate.

one reason why i prefer the creche/daycare scenario. you have more people there to keep everyone doing what they should be.

good luck-

Re: nanny cameras

I have a a child going to the 1st class and another tht is 2.5yrs old. The little one cannot still talk fluently. We have a new young nanny since the past 3 months. i work 2 full days and my little one is terrified to have this girl come over so much tht she refuses to have dinner the night before clings to me in the night begging me not to go to work and of course the sepration drama in the morning before the departure..This was never the case with our previous nanny. the little one also has a few bruises which she said was an accident from the high bed.
she is very nice with my elder child who happens to be in her company just 2 hours over the lunch time.
I have caught this girl telling me lies on a few occasions....
the whole thing is getting fishy. I dont was to chuck her out without proof, also it is not easy to find someone reliable at such a short notice.....

@amamanya
creches are a good option if you have one in the vicinity. but just to point out from the recent news reports -creches arent completely safe too!

sorry tht was a real long story

Re: nanny cameras

yeah i will get rid of her asap(I thought I would give her a fair chance by keeping an eye on her) ..but forget it i have to think first for my child.

No the bruises weren^t the lies. she lied on some other occasions on other things that are not as important.

Your child is scared of her to the point to be traumatised and you want to give her a chance of what???

Common sense here, common sense.

Re: nanny cameras

Don't mess about. Change nannies. You don't need any more reason than you are a concerned parent. And seriously don't piss about with cameras and stuff. If your gut instinct tells you you need a change then you do that.

We were in a pickle with me starting work and needing to get hold of a Tagesmutter really quickly. We went through the Swiss Red Cross, who provide a vetting service. Anyway, the first family we went to was a nightmare. When we sent an email to the SRK saying we weren't going to go with that family we found they had already worked that out and had found another person for us. That second match was, and is, perfect. New Tagesmutter is someone I have no trouble leaving my children with, and my wife's and my guts are all settled!

Bottom line, you know your way through this predicament; a camera won't change the necessary outcome.

Re: nanny cameras

I think that a Nanny should be someone your kids feel safe being with and when you close the door your thoughts should be on your work and not what she is doing with them. If you have a bad feeling, no matter what reason it is then find someone else.
Dont wait for something horrible to happen before doing something.

Sure you want to be fair but what are you going to do when you see that she is hurting your child??? As recomendation for other parents you can note that your child was unhappy. Nothing wrong in saying that.

Re: nanny cameras

Sups,

all the messages are telling you the same> Get rid of your nanny. Secondchances are not always worth it the risk.

Take vacation to find help, can your other half do it? Do you have relativesor friends that can help until a more permanent solution is in place?

It will take a lot longer for your kid to trust a new one if the situationcontinues, aside of any other consequences.

Get your best German and ask your neighbors for help. Do they know anyone?

Good luck with the search
