Doing the same level vs. Promotion??

Quote:
Promotion / Repetition

In the matter of promotion, the school administration decides on the basis of a comprehensive educational justified overall student or the student by the teacher. She shares her decision in writing to the parents.

Appeals against this decision is possible. Seems the promotion (transfer end the school year to the next higher class) at risk, must inform the teacher at the latest before the sport holidays, parents and refrigerate until late April application for "temporary promotion" or "non-promotion." In the case of the temporary promotion, the child has to endure to the end of November, a trial period. Parents have the opportunity to object to the promotion decisions in writing to the school board and appeal if necessary, to demand an appeal later examination. support and promotion measures for obtaining a higher intellectual level are not permitted according to the law school. Students who can not follow the instruction may exceptionally be moved during the school year. In some cases, can voluntarily repeat a year are recommended. It must be supported by the school board and approved by the school board.

Re: School application: Repetition

Thank you so much, some fields are confusing because we come from the English system.

What about:

Schulgemeinde Wohnort

??

Kind regards

I believe that is simply the town you are living in. Maybe your school is made up of several towns together?

Thank you so much for your reply.

We are in London and moving to a little village. I think people from surrounding even-more-smaller villages go to the same school because I saw a school bus the other day. Maybe they are asking if we are from one of the adjacent villages??

I think they are just asking what "school gemeinde" (for which read catchment) you live in.

The rules here as to which school you go to are very strict - basically you must go to the school for the Gemeinde in which you live unless you can show a couple of exceptional cases (ie full time out of school care is provided in the school Gemeinde and not the home). So I think they are checking that you are applying for the correct school for where you live, and if you do not live in that Gemeinde, they will want to check whether you have one of the reasons which enables you to choose a school out of your catchment area.

But as you are in a little village, it's almost a superflouous question. So I guess your village Gemeinde is also your school Gemeinde (the case with us where we live in a small village too)
