Look for a specialist and information, Gastroparesis

Hi,

I have a question that might not be able to be answered here, but I am going to give it a try. I have just been diagnosed with an illness called Gastroparesis (delay of stomach emptying). I have a really good doctor, but I am wondering if anyone knows of any specialists in this area.

My own doctor thinks there aren't any specialists here in Switzerland, but I figured I could give it a try this way.

My other question is, are there any other people out there who have this or are familiair with this disease? It's apparently very rare to have Idiopathic Gastroparesis (with no known cause) and it's hard to find information about it. I have searched all the standard websites of course, but anyone that has personal experience might have some more to tell me.

Sincerely,
Kerstin

You might want to try Dr Tutuian who is at the Inselspital, Bern. In Zurich there is also Prof Michael Fried at the University Hospital, Zurich. Get your doctor to refer you.

My father is a gastro, but in Geneva, should you be willing to travel PM me. The good point maybe is that he's English so that might help to communicate.

I'm seeing him this afternoon and will ask if he knows what should be done.

But surely there must be some as well in Zurich your

Thank you for the replies, I really appreciate this. The University hospital of Zürich doesn't have someone specialized in this unfortunately. I will contact the Inselspital in Bern.

Did your father have any ideas AstroStrike?

Thank you for responding,
Kerstin
