English speaking children in Horgen!!

Hello,
We are an english/swedish family that are moving to Horgen in a couple of weeks. I have a soon to be 4 year old daughter and was wondering if there are any english or swedish speaking children in the area and what kind of day care they attend. Was thinking about Kinderkrippe however my daughter does not speak any german.. Would love to hear any suggestions!

I know that Happy Snail in Horgen is very popular. I've never been myself but I know a few people who have had their children there and been very happy. The website is http://www.happysnail.ch/

Re: English speaking children in Horgen!!

My daughter went to a playgroup 2 mornings a week in Horgen where the teaching is in english but the children are a variety of nationalities which she enjoyed. the website is www.fun-tastic-horgen.ch

She also went to a swiss playgroup in Horgen (directly opposite the english speaking one) which she really enjoyed. She understood no swiss when she started there, but the teacher is very good and repeated instructions in english if she needed help. the website for that one is
www.tabez-horgen.ch and the tab to click on is playgroup harlekin

Neither of these is full day care though.
The english one was very small and the activities more structured, the swiss one was more free play with more space to run around yet still with structured activities like painting, games, music etc.

Hej!

Kiddiescare in Au was good 6 years ago. It's a bilingual daycare (English/German). It's not that far away from Horgen.
I don't know how the quality is now though. The best way is to go to the different daycares and check them out yourself. Good luck.

See this thread:

Daycares/Kinderkrippes and others, in Horgen

And this one:

Kinderkrippe - Waedenswil / Au

They have some information on some of the places mentioned in this thread and other places too.

Hello,
thank you all for your ideas, it's the second times someone has mentioned Harlekin so will look into that for sure, as well as all the others!

Kind regards
Helena
