Re: Summer activities for toddlers

Toddlers are happy with a wide open space and water to play in. There are many Badis and parks offering this and ice cream too. You're sure to meet loads of people with two toddlers in tow.

Badi Mythenquai and Tiefenbrunnen always have loads of English speakers but charge for entry. Badi Unterer Letten along the Limmat is free and has a large dedicated paddling area.

There are also many neighbourhood parks with water features. The Chinagarten near Tiefenbrunnen has an excellent play area in an enclosed environment; English speakers galore come rain or shine.

Re: Summer activities for toddlers

The following link shows all the different play areas in Zurich city. (German).

There are more neighbourhood play areas from tiny 'Hof' gardens within housing blocks to open parks and lakeside areas than there are weeks in the year. Have a rummage through the site and see what's nearby. There's likely to be an interesting place near you which will come as a complete surprise.

There's also a natty App called ZüriPlan which shows everything from walking routes to bars to playgrounds to... (again, in German but very intuitive):

There are several old train carriages known as 'Spielbaragge' found in some parks, where they lend out toys, games, tennis racquets etc.

Little people are well served here. Zurich's great.
