Healthy, Toned and CURVY!!! ... Not skin&bone like VS!
How do you know that they are healthy? Are they toned? Really? Curvy ... that has become a popular euphemism for being overweight these days.

We don't know if either group is healthier than the other. I would say that the VS girls look more toned and they are still curvy, in the real sense of the word.

And please, before anyone jumps down my throat, can I just add that I was always naturally as slim/thin/skinny as the VS girls, as were my sisters. That is just the way we were made.

Interesting results for now! As much as people scream how more healthy one is compared to the other one, the anonymous poll says something else...
Exactly! Just like in the 'Is Adele fat?' thread. In other words, people are happy to express their preferences anonymously but are a little more reluctant to do so publicly!
Please tell me you are not that naive.

I would be willing to bet that most of the "Dove" votes will have been women. While most men posting here will have said/posted "why of course, Dove is much better" and then voted for VS.

You want the truth? Open the poll results.

This isn't a "real" question. My wife isn't a VS model, but it doesn't mean she's not attractive (to me). This poll requires a binary choice. Unfortunately the world isn't like that. What we would like and what we are very happy to have can be very different things.

sorry, try to take comfort in the fact you weren't broad shouldered.

I know one guy even has trouble getting a seat on a city bus, poor sod.

EDIT... any guesses who that poor sod is?

Re: Beauty campaign: your choice

Why go to extremes? How about neither?

I'm neither as big as the women on top nor as skinny as the ones on the bottom.

Somewhere in between with some meat on my bones, not too muscular, not too fat, not too skinny... still able to enjoy my food... along with some light exercise... is perfectly fine with me...

Healthy means a BMI from 19-25 .. the VS girls nor the Dove girls have that!
Tone means, taking care of your body and doing sports ... Dove girls? Prolly not so much. VS girls, definitely!
Curvy ... Well the VS girls are just way too skinny, no curves. The Dove girls, just have too much!
It's about a happy medium.
And if you've always been naturally skinny, then be happy. Why do you defend yourself?

These are the pictures I found and the poll was between them. It wasn't a poll on all type of bodies, all sort of people. It was just two pictures.

I actually think the VS girls are more curvy and I bet they have perfect waist to hip ratios!

Edit: You ask why I defend myself. Yes, I am happy with the way I am. However, experience on here has taught me to explain myself!

Re: Beauty campaign: your choice

Most women aged 30+ will say they prefer the Dove one. Most younger women and guys will say they prefer the Victoria's Secret one.

That shouldn't be a surprise. Both pictures are equally constructed and targetted to hit their target market. The genius of the Dove campaign is that they have managed to create a brand which scores high with consumers in things like "Dove is a brand for women like me" and taps into the battle that women who are older have with their self image.

What is cleverly manages to ignore is that when the same women who like Dove now WERE 21, they probably did look like the VS models. These Dove girls are beautiful women and were not chubby teenagers, I bet!

So anyway - I voted VS because thats what the Mad Men wanted me to do!

The girls from the VS ad are much more beautiful than the Dove girls but the Dove girls look much more sympathetic to me.

Appearance is important but when it comes to friend- and relationships it's the personality that makes the difference.

And that is the power of marketing! The Dove girls were obviously told to look like cheeky and fun-loving girls next door, who are happy in their own skin, whilst the VS girls were obviously told to look sultry, sexy and seductive.
