Probezeit at Rämibühl MNG - Request for requirements and experience

I have been searching online and cannot find a link to the official rules and requirements for passing Probezeit (year 1 short Gymnasium) at Rämibühl under the new longer plan, (this year it extends until Feb).

My basic understanding it that the student needs an overall grade of a 4 and anything under a 4 needs to be balanced by grades over a 4 etc. Is there a limit to the number of grades one can carry under a 4?
I believe I found a document previously that provided a lot more detail and explanation but cannot get my hands on it right now...

While I understand all students are not equal, would other parents who have been through this have any suggestions, I am asking as for the entry exams the suggestions I received on this forum were invaluable.

cheers

Re: Probezeit at Rämibühl MNG - Request for requirements and experience

good to know that your daughter made it to MNG as you wished. my daughter at LGR passed the exam at the end of the admission period (january). and yes, you need to compensate a mark lower than 4 with a mark higher than 4, so it's the general average that counts - this is the general rule up to matura and IB (thank god, may I add, we can only hope it stays that way because otherwise to many "one sided" kids would fly out)
after the admission exam she had a proper probezeit which coincided with her 2nd semester, at the end of which her marks (but without an extra exam) again had to have an average of 4. after this second semester, the last day of school, we finally received the letter we had so looking for: "we are happy to announce that your daughter is definitively admitted to LGR".

my impression was that, on the whole, especially at the end of the 2nd semester - by which time they have really got to know your child's motivation and approach to learning - the marks are certainly important but not the only criterium. I was under the impression that there is a certain amount of individual assessment: if the pupil has always showed he/she is eager to learn and integrate in a positive way, this will not be ignored.

I know it's not the same exact school or situation, but I suspect that the procedures are very similar in the whole Rämibühl complex.
you're welcome to PM me if you don't find any more specific MNG information.
Good luck for the next steps, I'm sure it will work out well.

Well done to your daughter, glad to hear your good news
Thanks you also for your explanation and thoughts too. I am very glad to hear that it is in fact an average system and even better to hear that participation and a willingness to learn gets taken into consideration. It will be a long road through Probezeit but it helps to hear about success stories and I may take you up on the PM offer.

Thanks again
