Private Swimming Lessons for Young Kids

Hi -

I'm looking for someone to give private swimming lessons for two x two year olds and two x 10 month olds on Saturday mornings in the Zurich area (or possibly 6pm on a week night). There will be four adults with the four kids - we just need someone to provide swimming instruction appropriate for these ages.

We've looked at the various swimming schools out there but are now looking for private instruction.

Anyone out there who can help us or suggest someone to contact?

Thanks,
C

Most of the Halenbads (indoor swimming pools) along Zurisee offer lessons through their swimming clubs which may work for your 10 year olds. My son takes lessons in Meilen and I have seen some of his instructors giving lessons on a 1:1 or a 1:2 basis at different times. So it may be worth a few calls to see if they can do something for you.

I've seen children having private lessons on a Saturday at the pool in Adliswil. They are organised through Aqua Activ http://www.aqua-activ.ch/ and although the website is in German you can contact them in English. All their instructors speak English and German.

They are 10 month old, not 10 years old.

In my opinion they are too young to learn from a stranger. At that age they automatically kick and push their arms down and stay afloat: they have no fear of water.

If the professionals are not offering lessons at that age, then it probably can't be done. Occasionally though I am wrong.
