Childrens Injections

Hi,

My wife and 4 month year old daughter are coming out to join me in a matter of days now (wooo, I am soo excited)

One question my wife has thought of regarding our daughter is with respect to the injections they receive as they grow up!

My daughter has just finished receiving her 3rd set of injections from the UK and would (if we had stayed in the UK) had another set at 12 months!

Besides the normal injections received in the UK is there anything else recommended for children in Switzerland! I know its not like Switzerland is a 3rd world country but there may be subtle differences that are more recommended here then back in the UK!

Also are they expensive (like everything else in Switz)? Are they covered by standard child health insurance?

Thanks

Ed

Re: Childrens Injections

My recollection is that they're pretty much the same as the UK. Some are done through the school, some as just part of a doctor visit. Yes, they are covered by health insurance.

Re: Childrens Injections

they are the same as the uk although a slightly different time schedule, 3rd set at 4 months is already a lot, here it's 2,4 and 6 and then 12. they will give you all info at the dr's. you pay 100chf a month and then 10% of the cost of each dr's visit which doesn't work out to be very much at all.
