I'm not the patient so visiting a doctor deosnt help.

Try groaning the pharmacist if they don't tell you what you want. The only legal way to buy prescription drugs here is with a prescription.

You can get anything online ..... if you don't feel safe going out after dark to the places I suggested above.

Well send the patient to the doctor and get a prescription pretty simple but effective method.

If they say "only with prescription" then it is only with prescription. CH had one of toughest regulations regarding prescribed drugs, and if they sell you something without prescription, the pharmacist will be in trouble for it.

Hi - there is normally a very good reason why a/some drug/s is/are not sold without prescription. Usually because it can be dangerous, can clash with other drugs taken, etc- so if it is prescription only, no pharmacy will sell it to you.

What sort of drugs are you talking about. Usually 'prescription only' will be so all over Europe. No idea about your situation - and realise that you want to help family abroad, but I would really advise caution.

The thing is that, they have visited a doctor in their hometown but the drug cant be found there. Maybe i have to ask them to email me the prescription written in english and bring it to apoteke here.

In France you can get certain things that you cant get here or in the UK, might be worth a try.

EK, you also have to check IF the medication will reach there without any issues ( eg Embargo )

A doctor prescribed a drug that is not available in his/her own country?!? That's weird! In Switzerland doctors have the Compendium, listing all the available drugs with their usages, side effects, etc.

Normally a pharmacist (ie the university trained pharmacist, not the shop assistant) can prepare most drugs if he knows what the active ingredients are. So if the drug is not readily available in this hometown, perhaps the pharmacist could make it?

Sorry it is available but only from one company and that didnt affect very much.

It really might help if you said what the drug is. Is there a reason why the drug is not available in the home country ? Is it pure cost or some other reason ?

OP...out of curiosity, does your medicine contain amphetamine?

Maybe he can't, for obvious reasons..
