Okay to call an Apotheke with a question?

This might be a silly question, but does anyone know if it's okay (or normal) to call an Apotheke with a question about drug interactions?

Basically, I want to call my neighborhood Apotheke to ask if it's okay for me to take an expectorant (Fluimucil - aka "Mukolytikum"), even though I'm also on blood pressure medication. And it's not easy for me to go there to ask because I'm home alone with a baby and have this bad cold.

Or drop in... just be wary of them trying to fob you off with homeopathic sugar.

The answer is yes (my wife asked, because I am on blood-pressure meds).

It's a perfectly normal thing to do. You should be fine to take that with blood pressure medication but don't take the decongestants like Sudafed which contain epinephrine (sp!!!). Best to check with pharmacist though just to be on the safe side.

Re: Okay to call an Apotheke with a question?

Thanks everyone. I just wasn't sure if it was normal to call them, since I don't recall hearing phones ring much whenever I've been in an Apotheke.

I ended up finding an emergency Apotheke # (Telefon 0900 55 35 55) for the canton of Zurich and called that. Thankfully, the woman that answered spoke good English. (Mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut. )

And yes, it is okay for me to take Fluimucil with the ACE inhibitor and beta-blocker that I'm on.

I hope no one else gets this nasty cold. Even my one-year old has it. Poor little guy.
