Work Laws related to Pregnancy

Hi All,

I am pregnant and am due somewhere next week. I work in a restaurant on hourly basis and have a lot of questions:
1. After the baby is born, what is the procedure to be eligible for 80% salary?
2. Do I have to inform my employer and/or show him any form or proof?
3. In how many days do I get information from my gemeinde?

Thanks
Red

Re: Work Laws related to Pregnancy

You have to send a birth notice from the hospital, or the birth certificate, to your employer, and the employer should do the paperwork. It might take 2-3 weeks once the paperwork is in for the insurance to pay.

When you say 'hourly' - do you have set hours per week ? I have no idea how they calculate the maternity leave insurance if you don't have a permanent work contract...
