Re: Cost of Krippe for Unemployed

Why would it disappoint MC??? This is even better than the one my friends in Paris run - as you seem to get the best of both worlds, parents' involvement and participation/decision making WITH a subsidy from the Commune. sounds great and could I'm sure be emulated elsewhere.

There seems to be a lack of flexibility in the 'official' Swiss system- so a combined approach, where parents themselves provide for that extra flexibility, seems like a brilliant idea to me.
I agree with you, it's a firm structure with solid adherence to restrictions, in terms of safety, pedagogical content, hygiene, qualified staff, number of kids per adult, etc. But as it happened to be run by people who face their own working world and limits and have kids themselves, the admin is amazingly flexible. The atmosphere and the way kids are organized reflects this. I remember me writing an evaluation to our old creche years ago, stating,"Please, return my child dirty but happy"
