Wisdom teeth :/

I just had my wisdom teeth out yesterday. All four while i was awake.
My question is, in Switzerland do they "pack" the hole before sewing it up? I've been told by a few people they do and I'm wondering how they get that out or does it just dissolve?

Anyone that knows/has had their wisdom teeth out in switzerland advice would be appreciated!

Re: Wisdom teeth :/

Firstly, there is already a thread dedicated to wisdom tooth topic so the mods might as well merge the above post with it: Wisdom tooth - what alternative do I have?

Secondly, I had my surgical gum inscision for wisdom tooth removal and stiches applied afterwards. Although it wasn't done here in Switzerland but I only can guess that the whole process must be similar in some ways.

After having your molar removed, they cleaned the gum-pocket from which the tooth has been removed and applied dressing. Then put special kind of stiches that either dissolve after a while or alternatively they can be removed week later. As I never returned to the same dentist later, the second thing happened to the thread and it worked well as described by the dentist. She never mentioned any further actions required regarding the hole. After the whole extraction minor ache stayed with me for nearly a week subject to painkiller tablets but eventually subsided. Now happy to chew again and enjoy the life

My dentist packed the hole of the bottom tooth with a gauze soaked in special ointment. A few days later, I had a follow up appointment and he took the gauze out. A week after the extraction, I had the stitches taken out.
