Please suggest some english daycares

Hello....

Please please could anyone suggest me of any English daycares, creches, play groups in Geneva area. I desperately need one for my 27 month old son. We are moving to Geneva in a couple of weeks from UK.

Thanks for all your help in advance..

Sandhya

Thanks for the suggestion. Let me specify that I am looking for a proper day care and not the parent accompanying the child.

There are probably more on the forum but you just need to use the search function... Good luck.

There is Bell Nursery School, but it is part-time only:

It might be worth looking at French daycare too, he might pick up the language pretty quickly.

Maybe this will help: http://www.cagi.ch/en/Petite_enfance.htm

There is no way of softening the blow, so: be prepared not to find childcare for your little one that quickly.

Re: Please suggest some english daycares

It's very difficult to get into any full time day care here. Most places have a very and I mean very long waiting list. Although you can sometimes get lucky. Some of the facilities are private and very expensive, others are part funded by the local authorities, but only if you live in the same commune as the Daycare.

What my Wife did is call around the different day care places and kept calling them until something became available. Now if you don't speak some French this maybe a little bit more difficult. We had to take an offer of 3 days a week (split between mornings and afternoons) intially and then were upgraded to full time.

It's just as difficult finding somewhere to live. In fact we had the Creche before our apartment. Which sort of limited where we looked for an apartment, but it all worked out in the end.

Just keep trying. Bonne chance.
