Triemli recently underwent changes and now every allgemeinversicherter gets a 2 bedroom. https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/triemli...ettenhaus.html
Well, this is not true... The birthing unit is in the "Frauenklinik" and it's not part of the new "Bettenhaus" https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/triemli...uenklinik.html

And if you'd like to have extra-assistance, why not hire a doula?

Apologies if I was wrong about the beds. I hould have clarified I know halbprivt gets 2 bedrooms with option of an upgrade if there is soace and privt ersicerte get a private room with their own shower etc. Are you saying allgemeinversicherte are in 3 bedrooms at triemli?

In Triemli in the delivery room I could not open the window, but later in the "bed station", yes. In five days i spent there, usually i was alone or with another mum in a three-bed room. But you can ask for a surcharge a private room (not so much and you do not need the higher insurance for that). Next time i would go for that. For sure they do not give medication unless you ask for - you can have your birth as natural as you want/can tolerate. C-section only if it is really needed. Everybody spoke English.

I am sorry but how can you compare the two things? To be less people in the room is a question of convenience, a special unit can save the mum / child´s life!

Eh? So how can you say it's better if you've no experience with Limmattal?

The biggest advantage Limmattal has over Triemli is that there are only 2 bed rooms there as opposed to 3 bed rooms.

The biggest advantage Triemli has over Limmattal is that there is a specialist unit on site should something go wrong.

Either is a good option.

Read what I wrote, I didn't compare the two.

The vast majority of births take place without incident.
