Autism and English speaking speech therapist

As you can probably tell from the title this is a two parter!

Firstly can anyone recommend a child speech therapist who is either mother tongue English or fluent.

Secondly, my sos school has recommended that my son be tested for autism and I was hoping to chat with anyone else who has been through the process here in CH. Please PM.

Thanks v much
Ali

Re: Autism and English speaking speech therapist

This lady is a speech therapist http://www.thelearningroom.org/educa...l-needs-zurich
We have found her extremely helpful and kind.
All special kids hold a once monthly support meeting for parents in Zurich. This is a useful source of support. Information should be on the website.
Dr Gundelfinger is the top Autism specialist in Canton Zurich. I would recommend you ask your son to be assessed by him or his team. Do this by asking for a referral by your child's paediatrician. Current waiting time is about 3 months. My son was assessed in English, his mother tongue. All the information we provided was asked for in English. The Kinderspital cannot guarantee this service. The final report will be in German.
Pm me for more information of the process.

Re: Autism and English speaking speech therapist

Generally in Zurich I recommend talking to Foundations for Learning and/or the Learning Room.

They have freelancers, if you are looking for work...

I have met several US or English trained speech therapists, and they have found a combination of freelance/individual work and also childcare or preschool part-time work to pay the bills.

there are a few highly desirable speech therapy jobs attached to the international schools...
