Wedding ceremony organisation

Hi all,

My sister is getting married to a French guy and a celebration ceremony is scheduled for the end of April 2015 not far away from Annecy.
Mainly it is she who will be in charge for organisation of a party and the next day brunch. Both the ceremony and the party are planned to take place in a "Chateau".
The difficulty is that she's coming to France for the long-term residence as of January only (best case!), because she needs to get a VISA first, allowing long-term staying (now she has only touristic one).
So in order to be in time with preparation, I guess she needs to have started "YESTERDAY"
I don't have any experience in organisational things like that, I would like to help her as much as I can, but I don't know where to start.
Could you please recommend any wedding/ party shops who ships internationally? Any suggestions on catering/ decoration/ entertainment would be highly appreciated!
I would be very grateful for any idea for inspiration (anything from general scenario to some specific details).

Thanks a lot!!

She can't organise a wedding in 4 months! What about the chateau, what do they normally provide? There are plenty of party shops here in Switzerland so I assume there are some in France as well. Just wait until she gets here properly and take things from there.

I am a wedding photographer so have a lot of experience with weddings.

Would the venue be decorating? Usually either the planner, the venue or the florist would be handling decorations.

It could be you are the planner in the above list

Willing to help, know many suppliers

Re: Wedding ceremony organisation

You can get a lot of decoration/wedding favours/invitations or stationery from these sites:

www.alibaba.com
www.aliexpress.com
www.dhgate.com
www.cardsandpockets.com

They all ship internationally but you have to order well in advance.

Hope that helps!

It's definitely going to be a challenge, but we'll have to do it in such a short timing and to do it right The Chateau offers only facilities: few guests rooms, a big room for dinner, and there is space outside for the ceremony itself. Tables & chairs are included for dinner (inside use only). Chairs for the ceremony outside we'll need to find

Sometimes couples hire a planner, some brides want total control, some brides off source the planning to a friend, seems you may be the friend LOL

Remember the day is full of details, some are minor. It CAN be done in 4 months!

Re: Wedding ceremony organisation

I would get in touch with that "Château" and ask them if they can recommand companies that provide all the things you need.
The company they would recommand would know the premises etc.
If all this is happening in France I would choose local companies/providers etc..who are close to the premises.

At first: go and visit that "Château" and get a concrete idea about space, facilities, distances, parking possibilities, transportation etc...

A challenge but a nice job- good luck!
