Fibre glass rash from school

At my child's primary school today the class were asked to help another teacher clear out the school house loft. A group of 6 children were told to carry down a few 'mattresses'. All of the children who touched the mattresses immediately came out in an itchy rash - it is all over my child's forearms, and also on her back and chest. A teacher applied cream to the children and sent no message home.

Having asked my child to describe the mattress - yellow, cotton wool like, I realise it must have been fibre glass insulation, which should only be handled with protective clothing and a mask. She's had two showers but still has the rash.

I'm not sure if she should see a doctor? Also I've written a letter of complaint to her teacher but wonder if I should inform any one else, to make sure this never happens in a school again?

Re: Fibre glass rash from school

Go see a doctor. You should get an official opinion on it whatever you do afterwards.
