Hayfever.. in August ?

I normally get 'average' levels of hayfever in March/April.... But for the last few days I've had itchy eyes/sneezes.. which has never happened to me before in August.

I'm wondering if the hot summer is to blame. Anyone else suffering ?

Apparently, Ambrosia levels were expecetd to be particularly high this August. That might be it. I'm like you, normally suffer from tree pollen in Spring/early Summer and have not noticed anything recently.

Re: Hayfever.. in August ?

Could be an allergy instead. I never had hayfever, but I did have allergies. Always had to stay away from one amusement park during July and August because the area had ragweed/ragwort which I was allergic to.

There is all sorts are body has to get on with - hayfever is a symptom when the elimination takes place through the mucous membrane of the nose, it is called a cold -- catarrh of the nose. And where these crises are repeated for years, the mucous membrane thickens and ulcerates, and the bones enlarge, closing the passages. At this stage hay fever or asthma develops the following blog illustrates part of the picture of day to day life http://www.get-fitt.com/Blog/surviva...r-infrared.htm

Can't help with the solution but I do share the problem. Been going on for a week or so now.

Re: Hayfever.. in August ?

General air quality goes up and down on an hourly basis, perhaps sensitivity to ozone is your problem?

Re: Hayfever.. in August ?

I have seen a lot of flowering Timothy Grass (Phleum pratense) in and around Basel these last few days. Its pollen is a common allergen.
