Tinking of returning to CH because of my children

Hello members, I am new to this site and I am posting a few questions because I am thinking of returning to Zurich because I need my children and they are constantly asking me to go back. I am not swiss, I hold a EC passport.
I have been away from CH for 2 years since I was made reduntant by the company I worked for, and working in a country where I get a lot less money because the cost of living is also lower. Separated 3 and half years but no oficial divorce, and because I could not pay the amounts for the children that they ask me, I presume that the social security is doing that, because the mother can afford to pay all the expenses.
Now I found a job but the salary is also low for CH standarts, but at least I will be able to be with my children as the mother doesnt oppose that but my fear is that if whoever is paying the rest of the money will be requesting that I work weekends or vacation time and in this case I will have no time to be with the kids.
Can anybody help with an answer? Thank you all!

I am not a legal adviser, I can only state what I know from experiences from friends.

After deducting what you need for minimum existence amount (calculated based on your daily needs, health insurance, etc), the rest will go to your wife. If the amount is not sufficient, they will have to take the rest from the social services.

This is all I know...

between...this is in the case when the parents are divorced.

Thanks for your input goodhill, yes I agree with you thats what should happen , but I am still concerned if any authorities would make me do work in weekends or any extra free time I might have and in the end I wouldnt have time for the kids.

I am going through a similar experience on the other side. Nothing I have heard from anyone would ever suggest someone be required to work overtime or a second job. THe only thing that could happen is that you be required to hand over more of your salary than you would like and have less to live on. Each side is asked to submit their salary and expenses and decisions get mead on what needs to be paid for the kids. The courts estimate that, after rent and obligatory expenses such as insurance and taxes, a mother requires 1800 CHF to run the household and provide for the TWO children.

That sheds some light on the person who requested whether 1200 CHF was enough to live on after expenses and one of the network replies she would live like a hermit, how can someone provide for 2 kids with 600 more?

I expect your wife filed a separation agreement here? If you don't mind answering, you can send me a private mail, how did that go?

Good luck.
