How many years of good marriage did you enjoy? Was she taking care of you? Was she cooking, cleaning, doing shopping and taking care of guests visiting your house? Was she your friend, your lover and your company during this time?
I think the point is that she was someone else's friend, lover and company during this time.

PS: I bet your husband is counting the days...

Oh, I see. The wife cheats and the culprit is the husband. Glad we got that sorted.
It could easily be true. If the husband was a low life piece of sh*t (not saying that is the case here) then what are the options?

I know a lady who was treated very, very badly by her family and friends when she had an affair and asked for a divorce. When the truth finally came out she had been beaten for years and married life was hell.

Its not always about "cheating" its about being valued and treated with respect. What goes around comes around.

I'm all for doing things in the right order.

If her life was hell while married, she should have got a divorce. Once that is sorted, by all means...

Well said thanks. Not all of us are blessed with finding a life-long partner that respects us and we respect totally, and love.

Why stay married then? Why is owning or not owning their genitals any more or less important that owning their heart, or their bank balance, or whatever- Each to their own and live and let live- just don't get it. That's fine.
It's easy, she probably wants easier access to swiss work permit C or B and become eligible to facilitated naturalization. A lot of non EU citizens arrane a sham mariage and once they get what they want, they file for divorce. Fortunately Swiss authorities are vigilant and they can revoke a favulitated naturalization even after 8 years of obtaining it.
