English speaking family doctor ????

Hello, I'm new on this forum, as well as in Lausanne. I'm looking for an english(russian) speaking doctor (therapist) here or near by... if anybody could help me, I'll be very greatful.

I have troubles when I go out. I feel like to have a vertigo or something like this. I am very scared, cause I don't know here anybody and just have hope to find any info here on forum.

Thank you in advance.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well.

Do you have your Krankenkasse (health insurance card) handy? There will be a phone number. Call it and they should be able to help you. Failing that, search for doctors in your area and just phone one - some broken German is better than nothing and I'll bet someone can help you.

Or French in this case as she's in Lausanne.

Most doctors speak at least some English so the OP should be able to communicate with them in a basic level at least.

This might be a good place to start for immediate treatment

Or there's a list of 'permenences' ( walk in clinics) here :

I hope someone comes with a personal recommendation. Meanwhile, try the doctor's list to weed out people near you who speak your preferred languages. http://www.doktor.ch/ and http://www.doctorfmh.ch/

Re: English speaking family doctor ????

Hi,

I'm not sure from your post if you want a family doctor or a therapist.

If you are looking for a therapist (a psychologist or a psychiatrist) to help with what sounds like panic attacks when you leave your home, then I can recommend Les Toises clinic in Lausanne. Their website says they offer treatment in English and also Russian.

The receptionists speak French, but also some English, so you should be able to make an appointment.

The treatment will be covered by your health insurance, but you will have to pay your franchise first. My weekly sessions with a psychologist come in at around CHF 170 per hour.

I hope you get the treatment you need.

Re: English speaking family doctor ????

Hi, if you are still looking for an English speaking family doctor in Lausanne, The Lausanne Medical Practice (https://www.thelausannemedicalpractice.com/) has just opened and they have a British family doctor. I believe they are taking on new patients. Its very close to the Sallaz metro stop.
