| | Re: Cannabis? | Quote: | | | | | No wonder he couldn't help much then. You left out a vital piece of information.
Are you saying you're fine in the summer, but need this in the winter? May be that you need one of those sunlight gadgets you sit in front of for a bit every day.
I'd go back to your doctor and tell him the whole story, not part of it and then see what he advises. My understanding is that it's not illegal to grow a few cannibis plants for your own use here, but obviously distribution of the product is. At least plenty of EFers have said their neighbours do this. | | | | | So I meant that I ran out of my supply a few weeks ago and from reading the forum, it seems that the weed smokers are out more in the summer. Don't blame them, it's cold out there now! We went out the other evening and couldn't smell anyone smoking anywhere. I've got a new doctor that I didn't feel comfortable enough to mention that my insomnia got worse when I ran out of my weed supply. And I don't read German either so I couldn't really trust google translate to give me the proper information about the laws here. I was looking for personal experience from the forum. If I had some seeds, I would grow my own (as I have read that is legal to a point of two plants each). I supposed I could order some seeds from Amsterdam but was hoping to find some herb in the meantime. Thanks for your post.

Thanks. | | | | | Please note that the driver can be held responsible if the co-driver poses a threat to him driving safely. In such a situation he needs the passengers to sit in the rear.
I'm not implying anything, just a friendly headsup |

He helps you to understand, he does everything he can - Doctor Robert.

The daylight lamp suggestion may actually still be one to try, especially as it is a relatively cheap way of significantly improving your well-being in winter. Have you tried melatonin? That's another thing that many find useful with trying to sleep.
Audiodruid is right, of course, it's EITHER smoke weed regularly OR drive. I realise that many habitual users feel unfairly vilified compared to the shenanigans some drinkers get up to, but THC does affect your brain quite significantly. Furthermore, the effect can be wildly different depending on brain chemistry, something that seems less of an issue with alcohol.
From your post, it seems that weed has been a long-term "solution" for your insomnia, have you explored why you have persistent insomnia or what came first? I had an ex who insisted he could only sleep after smoking weed but he was suffering from depression and the weed only made his low mood worse. He would get up rather late and then naturally couldn't sleep all night.

He had 2 small plants grown from seed and the smell in the house from them was really pungent. So if you're in an apartment be careful where you put them in case neighbours get a whiff.
He didn't succeed in getting anything from them as they were grown on the window ledge of his back bedroom. Just 2 pretty green very smelly plants !!

If your friend needs THC-containing products: The federal Bundesamt für Gesundheit issues individual permits, but they seem fairly difficult to obtain. I seem to remember that 300-400 such individual permits have been issued so far. See Apotheke Langnau for additional info (in German).

It smells heavenly. Actually that startled me a bit - I don't remember it smelling THAT strong. If you smoke it it is rough on the throat (and this is a smoker saying that).
It does not get you stoned. (THC less than 1%). It did make me feel like wanting a real joint again - somehow the memory was not complete - after all these years I didn't like that notion much though.
If you feel the need to carry it in your pocket when walking the street you can still get a fine. As police can not detect whether it's the legal or the real stuff on the spot. But after it being checked in the lab you will be rehabilitated and get your stuff back.

Hi, I've heard it is also legal in Baden and Zurich, do you know where they sell it in these two towns?
Thank you in advance

| | Re: Cannabis? Paff Paff at Saatlenstrasse also has a large selection in jars. I am not a big smoker anymore not for over 20 years, I also find all the strong stuff makes me very paranoid and whenever I accidently say ok to something being passed my way at a festival or wherever I pretty much regret having a puff. However high CBD low THC is actually a very good relaxing sedative, its a pity I dont like the smoking part either anymore. |

Out of interest I thought I'd share my research on the topic. Much of the negative side-effects of marijuana come from the THC component, which has been steadily increasing in proportion to CBD due to demand (THC is also associated with the psychoactive effects). High THC content is thus associated with psychosis in a small number of cases, as well as the stereotypical memory loss. CBD on the other hand somewhat protects against this memory loss, and is responsible for the more relaxing/sleepy effects of marijuana. I'm surprised at the Swiss laws on marijuana, which seem to reflect an effort to address the problem of high THC content that I think is the only serious problem with marijuana.
For those wishing to decrease their intake of THC to avoid it interfering with sleep, vaporisers that control temperature can allow you to boil off the THC (or consume it) at lower temperatures and then boil off the CBD at a later more appropriate time.
I had an interest in this a while back, and like most of my interests I grew disinterested soon. But I thought I'd share what I found out along the way.

This thread has not followed up with Swiss reality. You can buy CBD cigarettes at most larger COOPs these days. http://www.heimatzigaretten.ch/ |

One can buy low THC, CBD cannabis pretty much everywhere now, see above Co-op comment. Just go to any tabac in Geneva or Zurich..
