Mental Health & relationships key to happiness

Interesting read. It seems that having good mental health and having a partner makes people more happy than earning more money.

Personally, I see money as only an indirect source of happiness. Your income and what you can potentially do with it becomes more relevant if you're able to share it with others, as well as being in a good mental state and of course having supportive family and friends. If you're not able to share it, then I can see why it might not make people happy.

Re: Mental Health & relationships key to happiness

I find the title to be terrible, thus I didn't bother to read the rest of the article:

Mental Health = key to happiness

similarly

Healthy Heart = key to good blood circulation

I get where you're coming from. It does seem like common sense, but more often than not, mental health and wellbeing are overlooked. The main point of the article is to have the state invest more in the mental wellbeing of its citizens rather than mainly wealth creation. Saying that, being unemployed also has a big affect on people as well, naturally.

For those of you with a scientific leaning you may find the following link also hugely helpful.

You needed BBC to tell you this?
My problem is, I'm already so darn happy, I desperately need to win the lotto now to get some balance.

RGlen has no particular reputation at present
Re: Mental Health & relationships key to happiness

As someone who has looked for and finally solicited mental health services relating to relationships I would like to say that if someone is looking for a wonderful relationship therapist look up Martina Famos (Zurich).

I am only writing this because it took a long time to find someone who was competent enough in English and psychology to be able to delivered the assistance myself and m wife needed.

Best of luck to anyone out there also needing assistance in this capacity!
