Frauenarzt [Gynecologist]

So my wife is going to have to go to the Frauenartz soon as her "magic pills" are running out that she had from Canada. Our insurance franchise is pretty high as we're young and never visit the doctor (normally).

So for this visit (basically just to get another prescription here) how much is this meant to cost? Ladies, I'd appreciate the feedback.

The pill isn't covered by health insurance I'm afraid. Mine costs 50chf for 3 months worth. The Dr will usually insist on a yearly smear test in order to give the prescription, that is covered by your health insurance, so if you just get a prescription at the time of the smear test, the appointment for prescription doesn't cost extra. Can't remember, but smear test in region of 150chf I think.

Re: Frauenartz

Ok, not too bad, been reading a lot of stuff on forums on other Swiss sites and girls were "freaking out" about these 500+ bills...

Pills I'm aware that they don't get covered by the jnsurrance, I'm OK with that. Just for the appointment I don't want to get a bad surprise, 150-200 a year is more than reasonable.

Re: Frauenartz

Mine was 146chf for full check up, breast exam and smear test plus writing a prescription so if you budget for 150-200 chf you should be about right.
