Everyone keeps telling me that it is easy to get an 'illeagal' to work as an aupair in your home, do you know if this is true?

No it's not true. Recent changes have made employers responsible for social contributions if caught.


If you have an EU passport why not do it legally. Just google au pair jobs switzerland...

If the au-pair has an accident, either while working at your place, or on the way to/from work, then you have a big headache. All the authorities (police, social-security, taxation, etc.) descend on you. And you have no insurance cover for liability, treatment costs, etc.

Very messy, illegal and definitely not recommended.

Also, if I were employing someone to care for my child I would want references and a police check. anyway, you are in Maidenhead why would you be worried about something happening in Switzerland?
