Raising legal case against doctor

I want see if I can sue my former doctor . Would it possible on any of the below points? Note that this is a uni hospital doctor.

1.The doctor didn´t take any notes. Hence, there where no records available from our sessions together.

2. The doctor spoke about our session to other doctors that I was referred to without my consent. The real issue here was that the doctor lied about my symptoms which made me loose valuable time as they other doctors then got preconceived opinions about me.

3.The doctor made psychiatric diagnosis without being a psychiatrist or psychologist. Diagnosis that proper psychiatrists later would not agree on.

4. The doctor told me that I might have a very serious condition. Then it took me almost a years time to find out if I actually had this condition or not. During this time I developed permanent sleeping problems and physical damages to my body that I still suffer from years later.

Re: Raising legal case against doctor

Best would be to contact an Ombudsman before you spend a lot of money on this. Assuming this took place in Switzerland?

People in Europe are less litigious than in some other countries. And lawyers are expensive here.

"suffer from years later". There is one important problem, you may have only one year from the time you became aware of the issue.

You might start by contacting the Schweizer Patientenschutz Organization:
https://www.spo.ch
(Be aware that there is a cost if you are not a member.)

Also, since you mention a university hospital and given your location - if the Unispital, you could start with the hospital Ombudstelle:

---

But to be honest - you are likely facing an uphill battle. Switzerland does not have the same concept of malpractice as other countries.

Yep, it took place in Switzerland. Will check with ombudsman and Patientschutz as a start.
