Memorial Tree

Hi,
My grandfather recently passed away in my home country. I was wondering if there is any service provided in Switzerland to allow one to preferably plant a memorial tree somewhere themselves or have one planted?
Thanks,
TheIslandMan

Re: Memorial Tree

Did you find a solution for this? The midwife who delivered both of our children just passed very young, and we would like to do something similar. Ideally somewhere in or near Zürich.

That's a lovely thought and wonderful gesture to make.

These people may be what you're looking for, or may be able to point you in the right direction.

Re: Memorial Tree

My Swiss friends Mother has selected a place recently for her fathers ashes, with a tree being planted instead of another form of memorial. Not sure if this is what the OP was searching for, but it provides legally protected areas in Switzerland that offer you an alternative to the conventional cemetery.

The ashes of the deceased are placed in the ground area of a mature or newly planted tree or shrub, symbolically giving it strength. This act of natural burial thus becomes a landmark for decades to come.

Where do you live? If you wish you can plant a tree in our NE Jura meadow, with a plaque, and come visit. Or I can plant one for you and take photos, etc.

Re: Memorial Tree

For those of us that follow „Die Höhe der Löwen“ (German version of „Dragons Den“, you may remember this successful presentation from Evertree in May this year:
