Hello all.
I am a Canadian mom and am moving to the region with my family - husband and two kids (5 and 7) this summer.
Unfortutately, the kids and I speak NO french, but it has come down to the crunch and I am desperately trying to investigate the public schools in the region.
Can anyone recommend public schools in the region (Nyon, coppet, founex, gland, rolle, prangins etc) as we are narrowing in on our house search in the next couple of weeks as well.
I have been avidly following this site for months now and it has provided me massive amounts of useful information!
I am specifically looking for school names, regions etc. as from what I understand each region/school has its own way of dealing with non-French speaking kids. In what schools/regions have you had positive experiences?
Also - what do the kids do in the summer there? Is there a camp or activity you might recommend? I would like to hit the ground running and get the kids some friends/activities as soon as possible.
Thanks SO much for any responses.

Re: New in Nyon and school in Rolle

Hello All! I may very well be taking up a job near Nyon/Gland/Rolle in the summer. I'm thinking very carefully about it though, so all opinions and advice very gladly accepted. What's the quality of life like? How crazy expensive is it really? My salary won't be amazing but I would like to do all the usual nice things especially for my son- he likes horseriding, karate, swimming etc.
Hope to hear from some of you good people soon! Thanks

It is very expensive. With a salary anything short of 120,000 CHF I don't know how you could manage to get by there
