Not literally beating the crap out of them, no.

But a little bit of violence never hurt anybody.

I think, it's less legal than when I was young (ouch ), but more legal than if they were puppies.

Phil, don't beat the crap out of your kids..... I don't think it's legal or moral.

OK. If beating the crap out of them is a bit harsh, what about caning them?

Re: Is it legal to beat the crap out of your kids?

37.7% of Swiss parents never beat their kids,
42.3% only lightly
20% heavily

Apparently are there two factors that make parents beat their kids more often and harder: a) migration background and b) "precarious family circumstances"

I think we can all agree that coming from Manchester qualifies you for both... so slap away!

Glad that's settled. Now onto a more important question. What about the children of other parents, esp. when they are annoying the f@@k out of you in Migros?

How would you deal with the situation if a 6'6" strapping rugby player was annoying you in Migros?

That.

Re: Is it legal to beat the crap out of your kids?

As a parent I can say there can be odd days when children do not behave as you would expect them. The same child could be well behaved at home.

how to deal with it in Migros? : Mind your bit, checkout and get the hell out of there.

Personally I don't approve - the parents should rather save any need to let-go of pent-frustrations for later. And no, this is not my kind of thing either...

As a young kid back in england, I once tripped up an old lady in the local supermarket - totally by accident, and her son, a strapping 6`6" rugby player type, smacked me upside the head.

My mum, five foot nothing, chased him outside and beat the crap out of him with her trolley

We were in Marks.and.Spencer when I was around 3 years old. Apparently I thought it was a good idea to goose the bum of a rather plump lady who was browsing the shoe rack. She turned round and thought it was my dad She gave him such a murderous look and barked at my mum, "you should keep your eye on HIM!" and huffed off.

A sign saying in the local language "Being an annoying f@@k is forbidden". If they're Swiss, it'll work fine. If not, you can hit them with the sign and run away. Same applies to the 6'6" rugby player.
