Help with Greek civil status

My fiance is living in Switzerland on his Greek passport, we have applied for a marriage preparation visa and they require non-impediment/civil status/family status from Greece. According to the Greek embassy, this can take MONTHS to get but we need it by the 25th March as our documents are due at the civilstadt. Does anyone know of a company that perhaps can help with getting it?

Thank you

It seems like you are Greek so why on earth are you talking about visas?

Why do you need the Civil authority office exactly?

Her partner needs a Certificate of Non-Impediment/Certificate of Nulla Osta or something alike which states that he is according to Greece allowed to marry.

As for OP.

All you can do is to give them a friendly call, explain your situation and ask them very friendly if they can help you in this situation. If they say yes you are in luck, if they say no, you'll just have to postpone the dates. There are no companies that put you on top of the pile.

Thank you for clearing that up When I called the Greek embassy the lady on the phone suggested we get a friend/family member in Greece to do it for us, so was just wondering if there was a company that could assist, not as much to get to the top of the pile but just to get it for us from Greece.

Thanks again,

Re: Help with Greek civil status

The only company I know of who might help are these.. https://greex.com.gr/

From their 'Municipalities' section,

Quote:
Through our network of associates we have access to any municipality office throughout Greece. From the smallest to the City of Athens. Similarly, we can have access to the Citizen Service Centers (JEPs) in each municipality.
We haven't used them ourselves yet, but bookmarked them a few months ago just in case. Good luck!

Every Notary should be able to make such request for you (I do not know Greece system on empowering "normal" people to do such on behalf of others, that is something your partner should find out himself).

That should go like this:

You give them the order to do this, they want to know for certain it is you, so they mail you a paper which you print and have your signature legalised at city hall/ a notary (depending on how it works at your place) This you mail to the notary, he asks for the papers you need locally and send them to you when he has them. Best to sort this out tomorrow, since a couple of weeks can be nothing when it comes to official documents.

Re: Help with Greek civil status

My apologies, she doesn't mention anywhere she's from SA and she referred having to do this in Greece so I assumed too much.

I just did the same and as my parents have power of attorney, it took them 3 days to get everything from Greece and then 4 weeks for the Greek consulate here to do the translations and Hague Apostille. If he has no power of attorney it's not possible for any company to do this for you as far as I know.

2-3 months sounds about right for the whole process unless he books a flight back home and does it himself.

P.S Do not forget to get the Hague Apostille for it from Greece. By the way, do NOT get the Pistopoihtiko Gennisis but the Liksiarxiki Praksi Gennissis as the proof of birth. These are identical but the first one is rejected by Swiss authorities, they only recognize the second.
