| | I am looking for a good doctor in Neuchâtel
Hello,
A little introduction of my situation:
I don't know if it's me but I have had bad experiences with doctors in Neuchâtel. I feel like they don't care and they just want to count time to put in on the medical bill.
I swear, I haven't had any solution to my past problems. Two years ago, I had an allergic reaction to something and after several exams, the doctor said he didn't know what it was. He gave me some pills in case it happened again and told me to come back if that happened.
I went to the gynaecologist and the same, no solution to my problem, he even said "I'm sorry but I have no idea what is happening". When I received the bill, I noticed he had charged a breast check up... I do that regularly by myself and what he did was just to touch my breast without really checking if there were lumps. He literally just touched them
Anyway.... I have been suffering from a pain where the appendix is supposed to be and I would like to go to a good doctor who can help me, someone who takes his job seriously and care about the health of their patients.
I am tired of spending my money in "I don't know"s.
Could someone give me a good reference?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

However, getting a French speaking doctor wouldn't be a problem for me, I can come with my husband or mother in law who can translate.
I am looking for quality.

Belgianmum speaks well of two doctors in her helpful post from that thread: https://www.englishforum.ch/3040907-post15.html |

The charge for the "breast checkup " is one reason why I would rather cross the border in France to consult there, less surprises of this sort.
As you experienced, sometimes doctors don't have answers (for some people doctors often don't have answers, it depends on the condition), in that case I would rather not have a large bill to pay. Medicine unfortunately does not have an answer , or the right answer, to every health problem, but we tend to always expect a solution from doctors .

Very sensible, your Swiss insurance won't reimburse you either | This user would like to thank for this useful post: | |

The saving can be quite significant if you really don't use the Swiss services all year. This is not our situation but I know people do this.

Hello everybody.
So I went to a doctor in town. She said my problem was a nerve that comes from my back to the leg, she said there was no treatment for that.
BUT..... come on.... I really feel it is something else. I am a bit desperate because I spent Frs. 900.- with her. I had an ultrasound, everything ok. I had blood tests, everything fine. I told her my symptoms and I felt like she didn't care, she decided it was that stupid nerve and that's it.
I don't feel well,I feel bad in my stomach all the time and the pain at the right part continues, a few weeks ago I started bleeding sometimes when using the toilet.
I don't want to waste my money anymore... I need a kick ass doctor, a good one with experience.

I doubt that a trapped nerve and bleeding are related. For the latter, go to a doctor now, any doctor!

Go and see somebody about the bleeding, that’s not something to be ignored.
It may or may not be related to the back pain but it needs investigating.
It would be help to know who you’ve seen and exactly what tests you’ve had done already.
I can recommend a gastroenterologist in Neuchâtel but you will probably need a GP referral to see him.

But in reality that is not the case, there are many situations where the doctors simply don’t have the answer. So no you’re not going to find the kind of doctor you are looking for because they don’t exist.
The bleeding is something you need to get checked out. They may not be able to get to the root cause but they will at least be able to rule out the common causes.
