Re: Migraines / light sensitivity doctor in Zurich?

Hi there!

There is a good headache specialist in Oerlikon Medgate center:

Ärztezentrum Oerlikon, Thurgauerstrasse 30, 8050 Zürich, 0583877755

Unfortunately I can't seem to find her name for the life of me, but if you call them and ask for a therapist that specialises in headaches they may be able to advise you. She helped me to diagnose a pretty rare condition and treat it effectively she has a PhD and very deep academic expertise in this space.

Re: Migraines / light sensitivity doctor in Zurich?

God!

Had completely forgotten about this thread and was not informed via email of the replies !

I was now googling for "zurich migraine light sensitivity" and Google brought me back to this topic !

The migraines / eye-sensitivity are not new, so the odds that I have cancer are next to nil .

I had read about Irlen before, but I'm not sure it applies to me. I have light-sensitivity in general, and not only for artificial lights.

It's also no secret that diet can affect migraines -- I certainly know that certain foods can be triggers -- cold water, cinamon, milk, yoghurts, any drink with "anti-oxidant" on its label, etc. Caffeine relieves me of migraines but then causes habituation, then requiring ever increasing doses to bring positive effects. I ended up deciding to stay out of it.

What I've recently came to realize is that since I can remember I always had red eyes, but never gave too much thought about it. Maybe they have some sort of infection and the inflammation is causing the light-sensitivity? Or maybe it's the light-sensitivity that is causing strain in the eyes making them tired and red?

Hard to know..

Migraines and light sensitivity can also be symptoms of head injury. I had a client a few days ago with this.

Yes, I don't doubt it. But it's not like I can go back in time and avoid that having happened

If this is a chronic problem, possibly separate from the migraines, perhaps a visit to the opthalmologist might be in order.

There are many different causes of light sensitivity, and many causes of inflammation - some inconsequential, some that merit further examination.

Wishing you all the best.
