I didn't let my kids get pierced ears until they were 17. They knew I'd say no until they were 16, so when they asked, I said ok, if you wait a year and still want it, then fine. One did it, the other didn't.
Which is completely different from what the OP has requested.

Not sure sure what point you are trying to prove here?

There's a huge void between causing a baby unnecessary pain because you like the desired non-functional appearance and telling your own children they themselves can have this, but when they are much, much older and capable of making a more informed decision.

One could ask why you didn't let your kids have piercings earlier. Does asserting your authority in such a way make you feel so big and strong and virtuous?

What the OP wishes to do is not advisable, but it's in fact quite unlikely to cause any difficulties or malformation - and so far as we know isn't illegal in Switzerland.
As you only quoted my post in your reply I'll respond by asking where did I state that the OP shouldn't get it done?

Cultural differences don't (or shouldn't) define morality - unless you're a relativist in which case anything goes of course. That doesn't mean it's right to pour derision and opprobrium upon someone for whom an action is perfectly appropriate.
It's called satire. It's a form of humour. Not your taste in humour apparently but others found it funny.

I'm surprised how much body autonomy seems to be just an after-thought to so many here.

.... it might be a cultural thing.... but maybe you should wait until your daughter can decide for herself if she wants this!
Might be right there. My parents never asked me if I wanted to be circumcised or not. But no complaints

Re: Ear piercing for babies

Apparently my ears were pierced when I was around 6 months old by my paediatrician (who is also my aunt) and they say I barely winced. But as I grew older I noticed the holes were slightly lower than I would have liked them to be. With babies it is hard to say as the ears aren’t adult size yet. I stopped wearing earrings for awhile and it closed completely and I had my aunt redo them again as a teenager. And it hurt!!! But no severe bleeding or any issues. My BFF got hers done at Claire’s when she was 17. I was with her and it looked scary, there was blood everywhere and she developed an infection, had to go to the doctor. I wouldn’t ever recommend Claire’s! I think it is better to get it done when the kid is older and her ears are fully grown but by a medical professional to be on the safe side.

Re: Ear piercing for babies

My son was about five when he asked to get his one ear pierced, which we did. He chose a golden race car as his stud earring. He later took it out and the hole grew back together.

The only problem I see with getting a young child's ears pierced is the possibility of having the earrings torn out while playing. I personally do not find it the same as getting a tattoo.

Good luck, OP, with your decision and congrats on your baby.

Apparently its done this why in some South American countries.

AFAIK there is no direct law in Switzerland which would forbid it. But it is recommended to wait at least till age of 5 when the child is able to express its own wishes.

Next to the potential risk of an infection it might be that the general conscience changes and the girl could in the future sue against the parents because of bodily harm and irreversible damages.
In Spain all girls have their ears pierced at birth, and it is Europe. It is no harm. At worst, it gets infected repeatedly, and the mum would remove the earrings until the girl is older and decides by herself to do them again,
