Wow .. The price of oil..

Couple of hundred chf cheaper for 1000l of heating oil than I paid a few months ago ..
Probably due to a glut due to the mild European winter and much less demand.

Thanks for the reminder though - ours needs filling!

I am glad. The panic is toxic. The right info spreads here through other channels than mainstream media, it is discreet but it is happening (work, medical professionals, flyers at school to give to parents, etc.). At least here in VD.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Economic upheaval means unemployed people later this month/week. Probably people you like, love and care for. No amount of type of information can fix that.

Mais non, I am glad that it is not still all over the mainstream media. I know what economic upheaval translates to. I am glad that mainstream media don't seem to feed the anxiety.

We are. Vit C in grams since it really works for us. But got ill after zinc this morning, sorry for tmi. The pill just changes the ph of my stomach too fast, whatever agents are used to bind the zinc. Is anyone taking zinc that would stay in their stomach and not come out immediately?
I keep an old AA battery casing in my pocket and give it a lick from time to time.

You should try a 9v battery. You can put your tongue on both contacts at the same time. If it's charged, it'll give you a decent little "tickle-charge".

No, no - that's just for fun. It's the zinc that's important. Note: do not try this with a lead-acid battery! Far too heavy.

It felt quite a lot quieter on public transport this morning. Anybody else notice that?
My boss wrote to us yesterday to say that he would like to do a test with full home office for the team and he'd listed a whole strategy on how to protect ourselves and our clients. He also insisted that our colleague who commutes from Bern does not expose herself to the risk of a lengthy journey on public transportation during rush hour. Thankfully, our work is fully digital, so if we can't manage to do it, it really would be a bit embarrassing.

What bothers me in this whole situation is that the government is not issuing clear rules for businesses, which should include any financial support they would offer. Looking at those graphs, we see a rapid levelling off of cases in those countries where the government really put its foot down. Meanwhile, I have friends still going out to parties and then travelling abroad, not sure that is advisable. People still think you are being a bit silly for not shaking hands. VBZ decided to run the number 11 tram as a half tram a few time last week, we were crammed like sardines. And then there are the jokers still demonstrating on the weekend, I get it, your cause matters but it really is irresponsible.

Re: Coronavirus

The prison riot in Modena from yesterday which started as a protest against the new rules due to the coronavirus and included an attempt by 60 prisoners to escape which was prevented by police and the military actually caused 6 death, it has not yet been released how they exactly died.

Re: Coronavirus

Some main points taken fm press conference in ZH :

https://m.20min.ch/schweiz/zuerich/s...erich-11617320

The press conference is now over.
According to canton pharmacist Andreas Hintermann, the canton of Zurich is well equipped and has sufficient protective materials. Hintermann specifies the number of 7.5 million protective masks.

Stefan Kuster, Head Doctor Infectious Diseases and Hospital Hygiene, University Hospital Zurich, calls for solidarity among the population. You can stay contagious for a relatively long time. This is why it is important to protect risk groups and to stay at home for at least ten days if there are symptoms of illness.

Zurich hospitals are well equipped, says Rolf Gilgen, director of Bülach Hospital. He also emphasizes that in the city as well as in the country you have highly qualified and highly motivated staff. However, he appeals to the population to call first and not go straight to the hospital. "This reduces the stress and the risk of infection."

Like Rickli, Widler also believes that people in Switzerland will die of the corona virus. «It is as safe as amen in the church. Our staff is challenged. I appeal to everyone's personal responsibility. » People belonging to the risk group should avoid situations that pose a risk of becoming infected.

From now on, the tests can also be carried out by general practitioners in the canton of Zurich. Only people with cough or fever who are older than 65 or chronically ill are tested. Sick people who work in the healthcare sector are also tested. It would be wrong to simply test it, says Josef Widler, President of the Zurich Medical Association, to the media.

"It is useless to perform tests on aysmptomatic people."

In order to maintain capacity, a new test regime will apply in the Canton of Zurich starting Monday. All list hospitals can now carry out corona tests and not only those that are designated. All doctors, including general practitioners, are now also allowed to carry out tests."

Yep, there is no steady line in everything happening and all measurements, Tomorrow Leipzig will play against Tottenham in the Red Bull Arena with a capacity of over 41K people, authorities deemed it fine to just fill up the stadium with spectators since it is open air ???

Swiss resorts still seem pretty busy. I was at Portes du Soleil Saturday and Nendaz Sunday. Seemed like lots of people, though admittedly I don't really know what "normal" is for a fine March weekend.

I work in Lucerne and we use the canteen of a well known Swiss dairy company. Now we got informed that we (externals) are only allowed to eat there as from a certain time... Feels like we are lepers that need to be separated from the flock??

The kitchen staff was rather embarrassed

I'll swap you a pre-loved zinc battery case for 10cc of hand sanitizer.

Personally I'm stock-piling bells and hoping to make a healthy profit. You can be an early adopter, if you like. I'll send you a free sample.
