It seems to have been deleted, my guess would be that it provided easily identifiable information about the poster and/or his employer.

I posted yesterday on a Coronavirus employment question thread.

I can’t find the thread anymore. Does anyone know where it’s gone; or why it’s been deleted?

I appreciate you answering the question. Thank you.

Like many other posters, I invested time to make a meaningful contribution to a thread on a topic that is more important than most.

Deleting the thread was dismissive and disrespectful.
There were good reasons to do so to protect both the OP and potentially EF itself.

Sorry you feel disrespected, I'll look through the thread and see if it might be possible to sanitise it, leave any useful information in place and reopen the thread. No promises though, as it was quite involved and we really don't want to jeopardise anyone.

Wow. It looks like he's even jubilating at the thought of the virus "just moving through Britain". He's living in a highly protected environment and will have the best staff at his disposal so to hell with all those peasants! Pfui.

Well the virus is 'just moving through Switzerland'. So what's the difference?

A young friend in the UK thinks it is Johnson's and Cumming's policy to get rid of those pesky, expensive oldies- and solve the problem of shortages of cheap foreign care staff. Cynical - oh yes- but wouldn't put it past them.

Re: Coronavirus

''Prof Andrews admitted what she said was "horrific" as she outlined the potential outcome of a widespread outbreak.

But the former director of the Scottish Government’s Centre for Change and Innovation stood by her opinion.

Speaking at Holyrood’s public audit committee, she said the virus would help clear bed blockers because “people would be taken out of the system”.

The Herald reports she said: “If you’re on the board of a care home company, a pandemic is one of things you think about as a potential damage to your business because of the number of older people it’s going to take out of the system.

“Curiously, ripping off the sticking plaster, in a hospital that has 92 delayed discharges, a pandemic would be quite useful because your hospital would work because these people would be taken out of the system.”''

We're not talking about people with a remotely stellar record when it comes to empathy here. We're talking about a PM who announced his engagement and his fiancee's pregnancy a couple of days after his estranged wife's mother died. I mean...4 of his children had just lost their grandmother and he chose that time to make his announcement. If that's how little empathy he has for his own children, the rest of us are screwed.

Quite, the NHS will save money going forward, this has clearly not been understood by many.

Maybe his kids weren't mega close to their grandmother? Maybe they didn't mind? Not everyone feels as you may have done in the same situation. If I was in their situation, it wouldn't have bothered me at all.

Re: Coronavirus

It’s quite remarkable that people, pundits and politicians can actually more than subtlety hint that this thing could be some sort of „great purge“ to get rid of people who are a strain to the „system“.

If somebody told you that five years ago, would you have believed him?

It’s a very thin line there...

Partly restored now, new thread at https://www.englishforum.ch/family-m...situation.html

Edit: Apologies to one or two posters who may have seen un-commented deletion messages while I was working on a copy of the thread in the mod-only area.

This isn't about me or you. He prides himself on being an educated person and a classical scholar. As such, he would know it's incredibly inappropriate and insensitive to make such an announcement between the death and funeral of a family member.

We're btw already at 112 different countries/territories that have corona infections.

Still wondering when Turkey will stop denying the obvious.

I have a prescription for a Vitamin D preparation, as I do not absorb it on my own.

Went to fill my Rx today only to be told Vitamin D in all forms is sold out. So tomorrow I'll have to do the rounds of other Apotheke, hoping someone can fill my prescription.
Calcimagon-D? I have an unopened box, need to check it is not out of date but you are welcome to it.

The difference is that CH wants to be seen as running just fine, nothing to see here, carry on, our banks are open for business.. There's chaos all over the markets but CH is fine, keep investing.

So it makes perfect sense to keep the numbers low here.

With Italy now on total lockdown I am wondering when the Federal govt and/or the govts of Ticino and Grison will decide to implement strict controls on the 70 odd thousand frontaliers in the region.

And in china its probably better that a few get sick from Corona as thousands get sick from the air pollution. The pollution has dropped dramatically
