Many people warn these days for things while they do not give any proof, or of which it has been proven to be wrong already. There simply is no official research supporting this opinion.
There may not be any official research to support it yet but there is no Clear evidence to the contrary either. Why take the risk if there is even a small chance that ibuprofen might make things worse.

There is an awful lot that we don’t know about this virus and until we know a lot more about it we are basically swimming in the dark. What we do know is that it is not like a regular seasonal flu virus and we shouldn’t treat it as such.

I know, I know - and yet... why not allow one person, the next of kin, into an OAP care home- and screen them, and ask them to visit the person in their room rather than the common room. A bit of humanity for those who are dying, and will feel totally abandonned in their great hour of need, fear, terror, confusion? It's 2020. Why not just FaceTime, Skype, whatsapp instead of risking contagion to vulnerable people?

Yes.

I'm pretty sure that the daily Vaduz to Memphis flights have been discontinued until further notice as well.

Re: Coronavirus

I cannot believe that this CNN statement only appears to have become an understanding within the US today

...

„These officials have emphasized that the virus is spread mainly by people who are already showing symptoms, such as fever, cough or difficulty breathing. If that's true, it's good news, since people who are obviously ill can be identified and isolated, making it easier to control an outbreak“

...

"Until you really understand how many people are asymptomatic and asymptomatically passing the virus on, we think it's better for the entire American public to know that the risk of serious illness may be low, but they could be potentially spreading the virus to others„

Switzerland has a relatively low number of cases, considering it‘s proximity to Italy. And the mortality rate is also currently comparatively low.

It has dealt with this crisis hands-on. I am very afraid for countries where the severity is still just occurring to them. They had weeks or even months to react. It seems that they have not kept abreast of what is happening, or have ignored it.

How about San Marino to Cleveland?

Not to worry, as long as Edelweiss is still flying to Italy, we're all in good hands.

I have no problems with people not giving ibuprofen but using alternatives which even might be better, there is to me no discussion on that.

I do have a problem with people saying that it makes the disease worse and thus it must be avoided, I can imagine somebody having a kid at 40.6 Degrees and only having Ibuprofen at home, but not giving any since there is an assumption without scientifically foundation going round that it makes the disease worse.

Well, just made my usual bi- monthly on-line order from Coop delivery (I live on the 4th floor without lift, so like to order the heavy stuff on-line every couple of months).

First of all noted than none of my usual brands are available. No not available, not even listed on the Coop site. So I can only order Coop rice rather than my always cooked right Uncle Bens . Usually, if something is out-of-stock then it is still listed, but grayed out as unavailable. Many, many other products like Hakle etc. as well.

In WW2 it was referred to as rationing

On the plus side, found a way to walk-up to my daily power walking spot, as it‘s impossible to retain social distancing in the Seilbahn. Now have a new work-out, which will affect all sorts of different muscles . If I carry-on doing this every day, I will either have a heart attack or become super-fit . I now know why they made a Seilbahn to get up there .

Oh, forgot to say - and here an edit: The delivery time from the Coop is usually next-day. First available delivery time in this case was 23 March. Also, the site is almost at collapse point - takes forever to refresh, and the order confirmation instead of the usual immediate response time took about 2 minutes.

Just sayin‘
I always like your posts since they are a voice of reason, and/or fact.

Our population is younger, I know from some days ago that most of our effected people where not amongst the elderly group. Also we run behind on the Italian schedule and our hospitals have not yet overflowed beyond capacity. I expect our death rate to soon pick up pace as it is starting to do in other countries who are still behind on Italy but ahead of Switzerland but never to reach the Italian number.

As for low number of cases, Current official numbers are: 256.2 per million here and 349.9 for Italy, surely Italy will have to release todays numbers which they'll do in about 4 hours, but relatively low would to me be a bigger difference.

Is this fake news or what is it? Everyone has access to 20mins, but for this link you have to deactivate your ad-blocker? All other news is available on the usual 20 mins and TA tickers. Wanted to give links, but just noticed that 20min won‘t let me have access anymore (new) if I deactivate my ad-blocker.

So, I will revert to my iPad apps, which haven‘t yet introduced that for both 20 mins, TA, BBC News and CNN. Counting down the seconds that this is still possible...

I can't believe that anyone would bother analyzing anything reported on CNN.

The perfect antidote to discourage Toilet Roll hoarding

Here's the perfect antidote to discourage Loo roll hoarding - sell them IZAL Medicated Toilet paper.
This hard greaseproof paper like toilet roll is guaranteed to leave hoarders with a sore bottom
during continuous use, as experienced by many british boarding school pupils.

What bugs me is - VD and TI numbers are the highest. I have to say, it really stopped being all fun and games a few days ago here. So while everything got shut down here, people will aside of health and life (overstretched reseau sanitaire, even those risking in special classes sitting the children of healthcare people and police), everyone will also face immense economic setback here because of the hault we have to go through. And FR and IT borders are still open for workforce? Hello? This workforce here is disciplined and on homestretch, there are resources as army paramedics here, reserves, that are not covid19 positive. Whoever is pouring in VD and TI from abroad as we type isn't even being swiped. VS has smartly shut their borders. I hope VD and TI will do the same tomorrow.

Re: Coronavirus

Same for NE - but they will have to make exceptions for care homes, hospitals and other medical personel - as the staff would be cut by approx 80% at a time when they are more needed than ever.

Nasty stuff. It did not get horded. Ever. Though one learns how to soften it....etc. Never use newspaper, the printing ink is toxic, dtto for making a paper maché, always wear gloves. The glue in it and ink aren't heathy.
