I'll be grey by the time this is over...
Thanks for the reminder to dye my hair as the grey roots are showing. Got to look younger than I am

It is, as long as distance is kept. Too many people then gathering and sitting together on benches etc and standing about chatting is not allowed and this is the issue. Papers are saying the rule breakers are the teenagers (which was expected) and the elderly. My husband cancelled his annual rail pass renewal on Monday. The SBB worker said the trains were full of older people going off on little jaunts.

I am grey haired myself (or will be now I can't get to a hairdresser). The real issue is that older people getting ill are far more likely to have complications and use up resources. It behoves us all to be sensible.
OK, so your post shouldn't have complained about grey haired heads... "ambling about", it should have said "gathering and sitting together and standing about chatting" and "filling trains to go off on little jaunts". (Not sure how much more patronising you could have been than that 'little jaunts' phrase.)

I'll have to take your word for it that this is happening a lot, but such activities clearly break the rules and guidelines, and I'd have 100% agreed with you.

From looking around where I live it is not the older or old people but rather the young ones and the taxi drivers who can´t be bothered....

Re: Coronavirus

I went to do my weekly shopping at my local Migros this morning. We all had to queue outside, 2 meters away from each other, as we couldn't be more than 50 inside. It went on quietly, I think we were all somewhat shocked and subdued with the situation. It's similar to what I saw on the news about Italy.

Actually I meant amble (walk or move at a slow relaxed pace) as though nothing has changed and I meant jaunt (a short excursion or journey made for pleasure). It was not, however my intention to be patronising or to offend you.

Re: Coronavirus

For days now the farmers are working in full swing around here. I tried to remember how much of it is normal at this time of the year. But them still moving about on their tractors after dark definitely isn't. I don't know if they're trying to get the sowing/planting done before they might fall ill.

Let's hope they'll make it or even better are still healthy once they're done and can take a well-earned break.

Near where I live, the farmers move about with their tractors after dark, on some few days, several times a season. Haven't heard them this year, yet, though.

This time of year is traditional to empty slurry tanks and bringing out manure onto the fields to prepare them for sowing later on in April, this is often done also before it rains (as it should over the next few days) for to reasons, when it rains the nutritients (as as it may sound for many) will easier go deep into the soil and the ppl won't suffer too much from the perfume hanging in the air. With the treat of night frosts still looming, they can't start planting yet.....plowing/harrowing possibly,

Definitely, the number of newly infected cases increased exponentially since yesterday. . .or, they the figured out how fax machines work. One or the other. But I also suspect the implementation of more rigid restrictions.

Re: Coronavirus

Had a guy around today for the annual control of the boiler.. Of course the virus was mentioned, working from home etc..

He just laughed and said it's all fake, there's no virus, it's just a test to see how the population can be controlled by the governments.

Sometimes I think that it must be nice to be so utterly dumb and ignorant.

I just replied to a friend of mine on my FB page something in this regard:

To all the dimwits who believe and distribute conspiracy theories such as this twatting idiot of a plumber at John H's house.......

I heartily recommend to those idiots to work a winter season in an old people's home or home for handicapped people...and see with their own eyes how a normal flu will kill weakened people very quickly.

And one of the main complications that they die, is that they are too weak to cough and thus drown inside themselves...Corona in that regard is several times more dangerous than normal flu. If you ever have witnessed that, as I did during my 13 years in nursing, you take a threat like Corona seriously.

It really beggars belief and yet it is true that there are many such idiots out and about as John was 'blessed' with!

Off my soapbox now
