Now project the deaths if there is no containment action.

We as in Switzerland. I'm missing the joke or WTF part in such, care to explain?

PS: The post is actually exactly how it happened. And Germans declared they wanted to be certain the goods would not fall in the wrong hands.

Dunno what is so funny about that, might be a cultural thingy..
Definitely. Absolutely. No doubt.
Could also be "some are easy to fool".

However, to refer to your earlier statement: I would rather have the stuff on the Swiss black market (LOL) than being robbed by the Germans.

CH failed miserably!

A study by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine estimates the number of cases discovered. South Korea has found an estimated 59 to 100%, Switzerland only 27 to 52%
5th best in the world...and I don't believe that Swedish number for a moment.

Think about what the UK number implies...

The stuff being on our black market could still have as result it ending up in for example Greece pharmacies for killer prices.

Do you know how the swab is performed? They insert something through your nostril and move it into your nasal cavity until they hit your throat. I'm sure you can imagine how uncomfortable that is. Sometimes the patient moves his/her head away. Sometimes they start crying or screaming and storm off. It's hard to get a proper sample. The rate of false negatives is the same as ever, it's just that because we do so many tests now the number of false test results is higher, simple math.
The numbers are real, most likely underestimated. We don't know enough about this yet. It's only been months. We will probably need years to make proper sense of the data that is being collected as we speak.
Hi Kally and all,

My daughter was just tested fro Covid 19. As background she lives in a "hotspot" outside Philadelphia (Montgomery County) and she came down with symptoms two weeks ago and a colleague had tested positive at her workplace.

Her test was up her nasal passages (slightly uncomfortable) and one down her throat (not too bad). I would put my daughter in the highly sensitive to pain and drama category. Given her lack of reaction, maybe the testing protocols are different and vary by country? I think procedures differ depending on which test is administered and maybe that could be uncomfortable for many depending on the test performed - Country specific.

She never mentioned her testing just her result: negative! We are thankful...

The containers were not stopped due to Germany taking a law to seize goods, but they were stopped by border patrol due to a new ruling that prevented export of medical supply's. After some days of talking the goods were cleared and no matter what the reason behind the curtain was did Germany declare that they wanted to be certain goods would not fall in wrong hands like the black market.

Ps, as for you posting about this earlier, so did I what would that change?
That the information provided by the official Swiss media outlet stated exactly what I had paraphrased. Whether or not they were suspecting that the goods reach a potential black market seems more like a farce and in my opinion was only stated to save potential legal hassles.

Do you have a reference? I thought that the jury was still out on immunity and possible reinfection.
Chief of the Clinic of Inf. Diseases and Parasitology, Prague, Dr. Jiri Benes. He expects cca 70% of people will probably get infected. Those with no or mild symptoms (sick only up to 7 days) might not be ill enough to develop immunity and might get reinfected.

Bulovka is a Clinic in CZ that has been taking care of Covid19 patients in CZ for the longest period of time.

Not personally and not within close friends and family thankfully.
Heard this morning that the daughter of my best mate's police colleague was admitted to hospital in Manchester overnight. She's tested positive and is on a ventilator. 27yr old mother of 2yr old twins. Other than her, we're just concerned about our nephew's fiancee as she's one of the many doctors having to get the tube into work in London. As of this evening, she's fine.

It was not a few days but a few weeks. Even after the talks, when the goods were "cleared", the delivery was still blocked by customs for additional bureaucratic procedures. German authorities behaved absolutely poorly here, as did the French.

More conspiracy theory nonsense. Starting from the assumption that all world governments are acting together doesn't exactly lend it any credibility.. Claiming a "scientific rationale" in lieu of any actual science is even less convincing.

Given that we don't have reliable tests at the moment a lot of the positives after a second or third test they test negative.
Nonsense. Maybe you're not aware but Italy is quite a bit further south. Every positive is doublechecked by the reference lab in Geneva.

Nonsense.

The real thing is to cough into your elbow.

Not only does that stop the cloud of droplets and aerosols from being formed in the first place, but you also keep your hands virus-free. This in turn prevents you from placing your own recently produced virus on everything your hands touch: doorhandles, lift buttons, the pole you hold onto in the tram, the bar of the shopping trolley, etc pp.

And of course:
Wash your hands multiple times a day, and in particular every time you return home and before you touch anything in your apartment.

Cough into a face mask is the best way. But nobody wears anyhow. Or cough or sneeze into a tissue. Are you going to wash the elbow of your jacket or jumper every day. Because thats what you should do and not just put it on the next day unwashed and full of your nose and throat mucus!

Did they lock down several multi-million people cities for the 49th cause of death?

That may mean the number of death is not the determinant criteria for decision making. Fixing on that number may just be the proverbial barking at the wrong tree.
