Great, roads stay open to drive. The fun thing about cars is driving them, not parking by the lake side

Re: Coronavirus

Basel Stadt:
As of Friday, April 3, 2020, 8:30 a.m., there are a total of 748 positive cases of people residing in the canton of Basel-Stadt. This is 30 more than the previous day. 397 people out of the 748 who tested positive and thus more than half recovered.

There are two other deaths from a Covid 19 infection in the canton of Basel-Stadt. The deceased woman and the deceased man are in turn persons from the risk group (older than 65 and existing pre-existing condition). They were 89 and 85 years old.

Indeed:

(Stand 26. 3.)
Jup. As said I think this was/is a very balanced article/report, no extremes in either direction.

Re: Coronavirus

Not even Monty Python could have thought of this.

The under Portugese flag sailing German operated cruise ship "RCGS Resolute" was approached in International waters by the Venezuelan warship "the Naiguata" and told to go in a specific direction, after this the warship launched warning shots and eventually rammed the cruise ship.

The cruise ship however was build to also work in the arctic area and thus has an incredible strong hull to break Ice resulting in the cruise ship only having scratches and the warship was heavily damaged and sunk shortly after.

Dictator Maduro called the sinking of his ship an act of terrorism and piracy..

It is only April, but is this the fail of the year already?

Edit: I posted it here but only assume since it is a cruiseship that it is corona-related, not certain tho.

Lesson learnt, next time warning shot followed by actual shot. In international waters... State funded piracy?

Uhm. Yeah. Ok. Just when I thought 2020 couldn't get any more moronic.

Moronic yes, but tbh it is normal behaviour for the Philippines where police officers have become judge, jury and executioner all in one for a long time already. We might disagree with Duterte, but truth is that he gets things done and sticks to promises he simply brings the Philippines to a higher level with his anti-corruption policies, his infra-structural projects the war on drugs and how he wants to change the country to a federal state and the majority of people love him for this even if it takes a bunch of innocents down on the road up.

Ausgleichende Gerechtigkeit (retributive justice?) on the US holding back masks ordered by Germany.

Just got some video clips in that the Swiss army picked up several ventilators in Graubünden. They should have a couple of hundred more now and more to come.

tbh when you get your tax declaration in around February each year, you anyway only need to go online to extend the declaration period to end-October. More interesting is that the payment period has been extended. Common sense peoples.

Had a look at the statistics in Berlin, surprisingly the amount of patients in the age bracket 35-59 was much higher than the age bracket 60-80 in some areas.

Did the older people "social distance" much earlier?
25-yr bracket vs 20-yr bracket.

And there's the age pyramid: the age bracket 45-59 is the most numerous, followed closely by the roughly equal 35-39, 40-44 and 60-64.

The younger 25 years are roughly twice as numerous as the older 20 years.

Re: Coronavirus

I'm very curious what the real numbers are, how much do we miss, how much do we count to much. Netherlands for example is clearly underreporting due to lack of testing. Example is an elderly care center that only has 70 people living there of which 18 died this week with lots of symptoms, but not a single person in the center has been tested yet, I also can imagine countries thinking that the higher the number the more help/money they might get, and countries deliberately trying to hide an already happening disaster like Ecuador.
