I reported, and the Police responded within 3 minutes. Bravo Swiss Police!
Did you practice social distancing when you measured the 2m or you reported them anyway as you were grumpy and vitamin D deprived at home?

I’m sorry, but I can’t ‘hear’ this chit-chat anymore. If you are in Switzerland, and see a group of more than 5 people that are not keeping a minimum of 2 meters distance (6.56168 feet), then please call the police on 117.
On my jaunt yesterday, I don't think I saw any groups of 5 or more. What I saw were people behaving in shops as if the recommendations applied to other people, and not them. Calling the police to random instances of stupidity among the hundreds of thousands, even millions, occurring every day is not the answer. It will only make those people more resentful and rebellious.

Seems to me that there's an air of 'won't happen to me' among the young. I saw hardly any oldies when I was out and about, apart from the guy in front of me at the bakery who seemed pretty oblivious to it all..

Queues? Were you in England?
Queues may have been the wrong word. People bunched round the bus stop might be better. None wore face masks. Some stood a couple of metres away from others, it's true, but I've no idea what would happen when they all boarded the bus.

One way to improve the situation is to ensure that home delivery works better. It's been impossible to get a Coop delivery in my area for weeks now, with no dates shown as available, even in the distant future. However, I notice that the Coop is now offering a Top 100 non-refrigerated products list, and promising early delivery -- within a few days. Sounds like a good step forward.

This. Exactly.

In lastest press conference of the Swiss Federal Council 03.04.2020, they spent some time repeating, saying again, finding other ways to say the same thing, etc., etc. "Dudes, it's serious. Just Stay At Home!". And: "Don't go to the Ticino. In fact, don't go anywhere. Not even on a sunny day, and not over Easter. Just Stay At Home." And don't visit the grandchildren, and don't let them visit you.

Good for them, for repeating it. Strange, though, that there are still people who think that it has nothing to do with with them, so they can go about their lives making no changes, even when this has the potential to endanger others.

I have to say I was shocked yesterday when I ventured out for the first time in 2 weeks, expecting to see streets deserted apart from a few mask-wearing rebels.

It was almost like a normal day. Queues at the bus stop, supermarket car parks full, not a mask in sight. I stopped at only one shop, a small bakery, where no one was practising social distancing, and the sales assistant got impatient with me for not approaching the counter while the previous customer was still packing his bag.

I got home, profoundly disillusioned and quite depressed by the experience.
Yes, met too. I don't get it. Switzerland is a super-cosy place to be at the moment (of course, compared to a lot of other places).

People live in relatively large apartments here, it is not like you're crowded in a small place and become severely claustrophobic. Try to isolate yourself at home in Tokyo for instance. You have all hygiene facilities. Try to follow some rules in India for instance. For those who can't go shopping there are still delivery services that still work. The gov promised help for those who would be severely affected.

I don't get it. Is it that difficult to comply with some rules that would help us all get through this crisis? It's becoming more and more clear that people are irremediably stupid and selfish. Not only here...just to be clear on that. It's painful to watch this show.

No . Some Swiss are too egocentric and spoilt to go along with these precautions

There is a part of the Police force mandated by the Swiss police that are there to control such cases. People (offenders) being stupid are informed, and the situation is controlled. And after that these idiots are hopefully not so stupid.

I reported, and the Police responded within 3 minutes. Bravo Swiss Police!

Re: Coronavirus

Yeah I know, we are an awful people and all suck.

One should never forget that perception is not reality. You think you see one thing, doesn't mean it's true. Again I refer to my link posted a couple of days ago, which very clearly proves that movement - particularly among the young - has decreased substantially, so whatever "hordes of youths" so many of you seem to see everywhere out there, it's either few or none to begin with or negligible in the grand scheme of things. Just allow people at least some of their freedoms - unless of course you prefer to live in a police state where you all will be thrown into prison or shot dead (see other countries) for pretty much no reason.

And once again: no one is dropping dead if you spend a bit of time near someone, so yeah, if someone next to you takes an extra couple of seconds to pick out their favorite chocolate at the Coop, this will do exactly zero harm.

One would think a nuclear bomb has exploded and you're within 1m of the detonation point, dropping dead like flies. Please have at least SOME perspective here. A few pages of decent discussion and now back to two pages of OTT paranoia.

The thing is they want to take away every area that could be considered as an area to relax.( in Zürich ) Like parks and gardens etc. So it forces people to all seek out whats left. So naturally they all congregate there. And people are going to go out in this nice weather. Its not breaking any law.

So if I see a group of people, they may not actually be there?

I thought I had heard enough conspiracy theories about this virus but your "Alternative Universe" one is more barking mad than the rest of them put together.

There's nothing like a crisis to expose how tenuous to non-existent any diplomatic ties and claims of friendship are. It's a free-for-all and many countries are only looking out for No.1, with no morals or scruples even considered.

They are conspiring against the reality that a lot of people here are not following government advice regarding the pandemic.

Maybe they deserve the more rigorous lock-downs that the French and Italians have?

It seems crazy that over Easter thousands will flock to Tessin. Seems like an hypocricy to me. And then they bring more viruses back here!

Previous formatting disaster.

ref - Euro130 fines in France.

This is how you get people's attention
"The Polish government has also increased the size of the fines for breaking the quarantine — from 5,000 to 30,000 złoty (€1,100 to €6,600), and prolonged the lockdown of schools until after the Easter break."

Now THAT is how you keep people in check.

Well, Germany, that is now complaining, did exactly the same with a couple of Swiss shipments recently.....
