You daughter visited you and carried it back there!

Or is she the one who moved to Australia = even worse. They are paranoid enough there. LOL.
She moved to AUS in early December, so no.

Zurich is quite used to that.
It has dealt with it in the past, and have built-up an immune system.

I’m staying at home, stashing on stocks of food and exercising everyday. Building immune system strength. Trying to avoid crowds, live in solitude not to tempt the wrath of gods punishing us with virus. Make offerings, stay in shadow and repent for sins omtatsat!

Yes, found this particularly disturbing. Something that doesn’t (necessarily) exist in Switzerland:

High medical costs make the virus particularly problematic - many Americans avoid doctor's visits because of unaffordable charges.
Last month, a Florida man with symptoms had a coronavirus test and was handed a $3,270 bill from his insurance company.
Taking sick leave is another concern. Not all employers offer paid leave and workplace culture often pushes employees to go to work ill

Definitely, and was flying from one of the more infected countries, to one without any 'reported' cases. Once there, the masks were a rare sighting once again.

no self quarantine needed back there in CH? (glad you are back ok btw )

Re: Coronavirus

China reports low incidences of new patients/outbreaks. Not sure how much one can believe reports from China

That said, the next few weeks should prove interesting. Unless China is "doctoring" footage/reports, I am not sure that this virus is that fatal. Easily transmitted - beyond a doubt but it seems only problematic for those who are compromised: namely - those who are elderly, have cancer and/or pre-existing conditions.

to be honest, in SG we are all monitoring S.Korea - as it presents the most clear case to track the virus properly fm day 1 - whereas Wuhan was a delayed response- so much of the data we can't /won't? trust...but as you know SG is pretty on the ball at the moment. for example :
"Man who breached coronavirus stay-home notice stripped of Singapore PR status, barred from re-entry" https://www.straitstimes.com/

An Apotheke worker told me the other day that you can also use 70% rubbing alcohol as a hand sanitizer, but that it has to be the kind that is 70%. That's a good idea -- to mix it with something like aloe vera, as someone mentioned above.

Apparently you can also make your own hand sanitizer with vodka.

https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/hea...hand-sanitizer
Rubbing alcohol is labeled as Ethanol 70% here. I bought some from the Apotheke last week to clean my fitbit strap.

My panic buying is done: I've got 5 new bottles of Whisky and if the little bugger (Coro) has a go at me, well, as we say in Scotland: "You can have my lungs...you won't have my liver!"

On that note, we should have a referendum so that insurance companies include whisky as part of legitimate healing programme (definitely more effective than any homeopathic crap) so we can claim the expense

WRS is reporting first case in GE, someone who visited family in Lombardy over the weekend.

But Don’t Panic. Just hide under your bed.

Yeah it's on La Cote news too ..

A lot of coughing and sneezing people on the train this morning.. Probably I just noticed it more than usual but hey.

Nothing to see here, move on.

Under my bed? I'll admit to it not being the cleanest place in the house due to my non-fastidious cleaning of things out of sight.

I was in the shops yesterday and there are still plenty of alco wipes and the likes around the place, not sure where the rest of you are shopping that they're all sold out. I didn't buy any, mostly because I've never bought any. I'll admit to buying an extra few kilos of pasta.

The British (assuming the Scots don't vote with their feet) will need the trade...
