It's an ancient English tradition, predating the Conquest and still lingering on in certain parts of what was Wessex.

She meant the open buffets at the Coop restaurants.
And how is that in anyway related to the post she quoted?
It makes no sense at all to me.

I am glad sanitizers have a million year shelf-life. We are still on a bottle I got when we got n1h1 jabs 11 years ago.

Btw, people, read somewhere again this morning that excrements contain the virus, if you are in a place where mask is suggested, wear it also when running out for a pee break.
Hand sanitizer has an expiration date. It's apparently safe to use past that date but its efficacy and alcohol percentage (60%) can not be guaranteed. I'd be getting a new bottle if I were you.

Also, put the seat down before flushing. That's good practice anyway given that toothbrushes aren often stored out in the open in the bathroom.

Nooooooooooo, I wanted to see this car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCto...ture=emb_title

When I was at the university I saw a bit about "topology optimization" software. Several years later, those suspension arms look a lot like an optimization outcome.

Don't worry, there will be more than enough whining available on EF for anybody at home for a few weeks.

Let me know when the whiskey goes on sale.

First I thought it was last weekend and now this hah!
Lucky bastards! Shame that this business couldn't have happened a couple weeks earlier. We had to put up with all the Zentralschweiz fasnacht bullsh!t.

Re: Coronavirus

Just my 2 cents:

Work at a hospital as an attending doctor.

The outbreak here in Switzerland is not being properly tracked since there are a lot of people that tend to delay/avoid a consultation with flew-like symptoms to avoid paying insurance fees.
We estimate that a lot of people already have COVID-19 and are tying to battle the symptoms on their own at home.

We will see an explosion of documented cases in the following 5 to 6 days.

Let me be clear: having COVID-19 is not a death sentence. It's a flu like condition that may cause death in a small percentage of the infected patients (around 7 to 9%). All the information is available on the media, hospitals and local government agencies.

As already mentioned everywhere, disinfect your hands regularly, avoid close proximity contact, and wear a mask in public transportation. Don't wear the same mask all the time.

Re: Coronavirus

Swiss football on hold and ice hockey matches behind closed doors.

"Swiss sport quarantined
28.2.2020 - 12:02, ATS

Coronavirus 1 - Swiss Football 0: The Swiss Football League has postponed all Super League and Challenge League matches scheduled for this weekend.

This was in response to the Federal Council's ban on events involving more than 1,000 people. The SFL expressed its understanding for the ban. The 24th Day meetings in the country's first two divisions have therefore been postponed to a later date, which has yet to be determined.

The SFL will inform next week on the further course of the championship programme in close cooperation with the authorities and the clubs. In view of the very tight deadlines and in order to continue the competition in a regular framework, matches without spectators (behind closed doors) will have to be considered.

At the same time, the economic interests of the clubs must also be taken into account in the discussions when drawing up the possible scenarios, the SFL explained in a statement.

Ice hockey behind closed doors

All games in the last two regular season games of the National League will be played behind closed doors on Friday and Saturday.

The situation regarding the rest of the programme, particularly the play-offs, is not yet clear. The clubs and the Federation (SIHF) will discuss this on Monday."

If I'm in the elevator with the person who has a covid-19 - can I get it just by breathing the same air (no sneezing or coughing) ?

As an „attending doctor“, I am surprised about your advice on masks (as if we could actually buy any). My information is that they are only effective for about an hour and should only be worn by medical staff treating patients and people with the virus. Am I wrongly informed??

7-9% is not a small percentage. Or do you mean only 7 to 9% are in the group where they are at a risk of dying if they catch it.

Re: Coronavirus

One important point from the Federal Council press conference:

The Covid-19 tests are now covered by your basic health insurance. This is a relief as they cost anything from 280 to 1000 CHF.

For people in Suisse Romande: all Brandons are cancelled, as are various concerts and theater events, till the 15th of March at least.

Been around town today after picking up my visor from Hornbach, the only person wearing a facemask I saw was an East Asian guy at the station. People are still congregating more or less normally, and everyone is still on their phone in the publc transport. Your phone will probably need disinfecting daily now, if you're one of those sorts of avid users.

About 120 bottles in the cellar should see me through.

I'm more worried about only having 3 litres of gin.....

With the percentage you mention, and your mask advice I really don't believe you're in a medic profession.
