I recently got tested at TopPharm at Europallee.
They have a small wooden cabin outisde where they perform the test. (You have to book it in advance, of course)
The lady told me that formally the PCR test takes 48H, but since she has been working there, results always came in 24H and in fact that what is happened with me as well. If I recall correct, it's about 130CHF

does anybody know a laboratory or hospital where they guarantee the PCR test results in maximum 36 hours? I have to travel and in the country where I will arrive the require a PCR test not older than 48 hours.
Thanks | | | | | Pretty much any...
Rothen labs have the best rate in Basel, they might be present elsewhere too.

Thanks | | | | | Emphasis mine. I am not sure any lab will guarantee you the results within a certain time frame. When we did our test, the nurse told us most of their tests come back within 24 hours. The SMS from the lab said "usually within 48-72 hours", which nearly gave us a heart attack because 72 hours would have been far too late!
Our results were back in 26 hours, which was good enough for us.

Still, it stings the wallet to have to pay an extra 195 out of your own pocket on top of your airfare/hotel/car hire just so you can travel. | This user would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post:

| | Rapid Result Covid tests
Hi
I have a family emergency in UK, and may need to get back, is there anywhere near Basel or Zurich area that does rapid result PCR or antigen tests?

I think someone on EF said you can do it there. For a PCR test the results are back within 5 hours. I assume for a rapid antigen test it would be faster. When we had our rapid antigen tests in Bern we were told 3 hours, but it was back within 30 minutes.
Good luck, family emergencies are rough in normal times but in Covid times. | The following 2 users would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post:

Did one at Medix as well, they got back to me almost on the third day (and by SMS only, no pdf by email).

Here is a list of testing centers in the Zurich area, which also allows you to book an appointment on that site: https://www.onedoc.ch/en/covid-testing-center/zurich | This user would like to thank Pancakes for this useful post:

They've finally announced which tests are acceptable: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavi...d-type-of-test
Your best and cheapest bet is antigen because thats only 57.50 CHF vs 195 CHF (if you want the 5 hour PCR test at the airport) and you can get it at some pharmacies with appointments and results in 15-20 mins. Obviously you can also get an appointment for a PCR cheaper outside the airport but they're still around the 120-140CHF mark with 24-48 hour results.
As someone who commutes to the UK regularly I'm extremely happy they're accepting antigen tests.

Being based in Bern I'd rather take another solution (under the condition that the border is open for travelling): Travel by train to Frankfurt airport (takes less than 3 hours longer than to Zurich airport), do the excellent organised Covid-19 PCR test für 69 EUR, staying in the hotel and traveling (with a cheaper airfare) next day to my destination.

The rules keep changing it seems almost daily. I think at the moment you can enter Germany without a PCR test if you're only there for shopping or transit.
However I am not sure that arriving one day, renting a hotel room, and flying out the next day counts as "leaving the country immediately" under the rules. If it doesn't count, you'd need a PCR test just to go to Germany anyway because Switzerland is classified as a risk area.

Anyone knows where to get TMA or LAMP test in Basel? Im bit confused with all the naming of those tests and I'm not sure are they the same antigen tests that Amavita pharmacy is doing?
Thanx

For anyone going to the UK, just make sure the results are in English, French or Spanish. They are the only languages they’ll accept.

Im just not sure if TMA and LAMP tests are the same thing as rapid tests that are available at Swiss pharmacies. Spain accepts PCR TMA or LAMP. Read the latter 2 are much quicker and cheaper.

List of places you can get tests in each Kanton. Then phone/email a provider and ask. https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home...html#197439718 |
