Covid Test sites? (Needed quick results for travel)

Hi all -

I have to travel quickly to Boston next week for personal reasons and MA just put into law a requirement for either negative Covid test results (from a sample taken within 72 hours) or 2 week quarantine (not really an option for me). I thought it should be easy to figure out where to get a rapid Coronavirus test and go on Monday after work (I fly Wed), but my internet search skills are failing me any ideas here? I work near Bern, live in Aarau, and fly from Zurich so testing site needs to be in/near one of those three locations...

I tried calling my doctors office (which I have never talked to before - I’m relatively new to CH), but the call just disconnects :/

Also, does anyone know if the test is covered by my insurance (either under travel or regular medical expenses)?

Re: Covid Rapid Test sites? (Needed for travel)

Hello,

The best location I have found is in Zurich --> https://coronatest.uzh.ch/en/.

Given the situation I would anyway prepare for the 14 days quarantine

Re: Covid Rapid Test sites? (Needed for travel)

I was tested in my house doctors at 1530, had a phone call and email at 1100 the next day with results and the letter arrived the following day. I'm not sure is that sufficient for your purposes.

They get results back within 4 hrs now. At Nyon hospital, for example, you have to schedule now for COVID-19 screening test

How do you schedule? In person, by phone, on-line?

I don’t need one (touch wood) but I might.

I guess you are aware that you will have to quarantine for 10 days upon coming back to Switzerland? Good luck!

If you fly over Frankfurt and have some time left between flights, they make a test in 3 hours there:

https://www.centogene.com/covid-19/t...t-airport.html

you need to apply on-line before, you can get a certificate there.

A bit far for OP, but Yverdon Hospital has a drive thru testing facility.

According to the webpage it says testing takes 3 minutes and results in a few hours.

Re: Covid Rapid Test sites? (Needed for travel)

Hi
Any up to date information on where i can get quick test in the Zurich area for travel.
I have a 15hrs flight and destination country require negative test result 72hrs before boarding. Most test centres i have seen in ZH get a test result 24-48hrs.
Anywhere i can do a test and get result just 4 hours later?

Re: Covid Rapid Test sites? (Needed for travel)

Would also be interested especially in CHEAP PCR-testing facilities. Need a negative test not older than 72h for travelling purposes. Am very flexible with time (can also wait 1-3 days) and place, I just don't want to pay CHF 200+ for something that you can get abroad for CHF 40 or free.... Any recommendations?

Hi, I got tested yesterday at USZ hospital. I actually had an appointment scheduled but stood in the line outside as I wasnt sure where to go. The line I waited in you didn't need an appointment. My test was at 11am and I got my results at 6.30pm same day.

Re: Covid Rapid Test sites? (Needed for travel)

I was tested at my regular doctor's office a few months ago, and it was free. I had called her and told her I had a sore throat, etc. and she said I should come in for a test. The appt. was at 5 pm and I had my results the next morning (negative... yay!).

I know there are also testing facilities set up around hospitals (e.g. Uster Spital) that don't require an appt. and you usually get your results the next day. My friend had her kids tested there and it was free.

The Zuger Kantonsspital in Baar is offering a great uncomplicated walk-in service.
Always parking available and close to highway in case that helps anyone.

And they’ve stopped going ultra deep up the nose with the swab so it’s super painless too now.

170Chf if it’s for personal reasons and not due to symptoms, otherwise free.

Covid walk-in/rapid test sites (for travel-without prescription) in Fribourg

Does anyone know if there are any in Fribourg? I know about this one in Yverdon-les-bains but couldn't find closer ones in Fribourg.

Cheers
