Was it ever in doubt? I am surprised that so many said NO in the first place.
We said no to all except the Anti-EU thing.

Steady on, let's not go crazy.

Let's vote for more time for both parents and make child care more widely available and based on income, with the government subsidising the rest.

I have not been here before I joined!!!!! Stick to your day job, Poirot! It is amazing that these days if someone is secure in their skin and holds non-mainstream views then insecure people come with all kinds of drivel to shut them down!

I was listening to Joe Rogan's recent podcast with Douglas Murray and you sound like the typical SJW they were talking about People like you just want an echo chamber where they hear no alternative opposing views.
I am happy for anyone to have the right to air their views... just as I am happy to have the right to call them stupid. I was specifically talking about your views and the way you present them...

Ironically, you quote Joe Rogan who does exactly the same thing on a daily basis... he criticises anyone and everyone if he doesn't agree with them.

Full of stupid, this country you claimed you could not imagine not living in in a other thread.
If you thought I was saying this entire country is stupid then as usual you misunderstood... I was talking specifically about talk_to_you_later's many risible posts within this thread disclosing his views about having and paying for kids.

Yes, I agree with the right to air their views, both OP, and you, and everyone else.

On this forum, however, it is not permitted to post what might be offensive, nor are personal insults permitted, so I am not convinced that you have the right to call someone, or their posts, "stupid", nor "inane drivel". Please, stop. Thank you.

Double ironic is that you do exactly the same, just calling someone stupid because his views are, to your mind, ridiculous. I tend to agree with you, but insulting [Mod hat:now removed] the poster is not an effective, nor acceptable, way of arguing a point.

You don't like the way I present my views yet you continue to read them since I joined, actually you are even stalking me and continue to hurl personal insults. Did I trigger something in you from your childhood?

You probably want me to-
a) Stop posting?
or
b) You want me to change the way I post and fall in line with your style?

Neither of that is going to happen as I have not said or done anything wrong. Many people are very happy with my posts, even if they were not, it would not have bothered me. I don't post to be part of some popularity contest. People who I don't even know have gone out of their way to tell me to ignore you, as you are apparently the forum's resident self-righteous _______ (adjective).

So tell me, why do you think your opinion should matter to me? You are nobody to me and based on your personality you will continue to stay so.

Don't know what you are trying to say exactly. Here is a news flash for you, you are not Joe Rogan, you do not have 10 million followers nor do you have your own private platform where you can spout whatever you feel like spouting. You are free to disagree with my views and continue to post counter views but when you make personal attacks then it just exposes your true personality.

Anyway I was pointing how Douglas Murray was describing people like you, the ones who are all for open debate and free speech as long as the views of others matches their own. Maybe time to truly get out of your echo chamber, young chap!

Note to everyone- My true views only I know, in a lot of cases even I don't know my true views. My posts are sometimes to create debate and hear counter arguments and then to re-confirm that I was right all along

So you admit you are a troll then. Cool. I can now just ignore everything you say as you admit that you don’t even believe it, which would be a shame is you had something important to say or ask... but, yeah, you get your kicks.

MsWorWoo,

A person who never changes his views based on evidence and fair argument ends up being an intellectual midget. Try to differentiate between my actual point and me saying something light-heartedly at the end of the point I made.

I still stand behind my main argument that your decision to bring a child into this world = your lifestyle choice = your responsibility = you pick the costs.

I have softened my view as to what extent I should apply that rule but the basic view still stands.

If my opinion didn't matter you wouldn't be getting so worked up over it and writing such long and emotionally driven responses. Fact.

If you don't believe what you write and are just trying to get a reaction from people then there is a word for this: Trolling.

It's just a a text from MsWorWoo. Since the text is not complement with a facial expression, voice tone, and body language it's really hard to know if it's humor or something serious, or both. Those words delivered with playful voice tone and we'd all be just laughing. Well, that was my reaction after reading.

On the other hand, if the words are delivered with a self-righteous voice a tone or if they trigger something in you from the past regardless of the talker voice inflections....we get a "it was just light-hearted fun, don't hurt me" from you. How can you tell MrsWorWoo is not saying something light-heartedly in first place? Do you have a monopoly on humor? The others can also make fun and tell jokes

As I see it the thread's title was meant to be inflammatory not to provoke a serious debate.

@OP,

You don't have to pay for anyone's kids. You have to pay your taxes and the Swiss gov or local admin will decide how to use them. Fact.

If you like to discuss things we're all interested in (or at least we should be) - taxes, tax deductions etc maybe you should use some more neutral formulations. You wanted to stir up emotions - well, you have it.

I think it may have also something to do with the reasons that a relatively large portion of voters still voted against it. They did not run it 1st online to check what others will think, they may have (as is the way here) politely voiced it to their closest friends. There was not much outrage in media at all about the issue. But some people still voted against and probably felt the same way you do about it.

It is good to have pro and against voices, it is democratic and yields more quality arguments. It will make the public count on other people's critical thinking skills next time the voting comes around in the same issue. Thanks for sharing.

I disagree with you on it but understand why you feel like you sponsor other people's life choices (I'd see it more evolutional, though). I sponsor some of yours, I am sure, so we are even?

We had 12+ pages of debate, so I would say that the title was excellent. If grown up people can't handle a simple title and discussion then society is even more doomed than I thought
