Looks more to me like a card to remember to get the second shot, rather than an attempt to introduce a vaccination certificate. But as ever, the Wail goes for the hysterical interpretation.

This card says that it should be kept in the purse or wallet, so it does look very much like a certificate to me, something that you can show on request.

He likes the card in the wallet.

Plenty of people still rely on paper diaries, reminders etc.

What they cannot do is authorise the vaccine to be approved for use in Switzerland. That is the job of Swissmedic. | Quote: | | | | | If something needs to be remembered, then it should be put into the iPhone calendar with a reminder notification. | | | | | Is this your internet persona or are you like this in real life?

Plenty of people still rely on paper diaries, reminders etc. | | | | | Yes of course, people rely on different kinds of reminders — paper diaries, sticky notes, iPhone notifications, etc. I have updated my post accordingly.

| | Biometric data format in Switzerland.
To me, the obvious place to record if you have had a vaccine (and possibly which one, dates, etc) would be in the biometric data already stored in many of our ID cards, permits and passports. Swiss and EU/EEA passports now have biometric information in a standard format, while all non-EU permits now have the same.
Is this possible? Can new data be included on an existing document, or would it need to be reissued?

I will probably take it (I usually get the flu vaccine every year so I don't see any difference). I would take some time to get it though (not in the high risk group and I'll admit it that I want to see how it goes before jumping in). Not stranger to new vaccines (I got the first generation of the HPV vaccine for example), I am a bit dubious about the speed of the testing.. but considering how fast these tiny viruses mutate I really don't think that a long testing period would have any difference.
So yeah, once it is available for non risk group I will take it. Even if I am the only one in the household to take it (dear husband who works in the business is a bit more skeptical )
Do you think Switzerland will make it mandatory for all people coming into the country? I do know that France won't be doing that at all so I am curious of how this will proceed.

Having something similar but separate, with an international standard, would be a good idea though.

Having something similar but separate, with an international standard, would be a good idea though. | | | | | It wouldn’t be your medical records. It will be your COVID-19 vaccination record. Certainly other vaccinations (Malaria, Yellow Fever, etc) could be added to this as many countries still require these for visitors.
An ID or Passport identifies you as being you. Something separate doesn’t do that.
But can anyone answer my question rather than comment on the principle. Can biometric data on ID cards or passports be edited in a secure manner?

What if you have had COVID already? Is there any point getting a vaccine?

There should be a way to put the vaccine in cocaine, vaping liquids for e-cigarettes or bar cocktails......no one, no one cares about what's in there, ever | The following 6 users would like to thank Axa for this useful post: | |

| | Re: Covid Vaccine: Will you get it? | Quote: | | | | | A first look at the Covid Vaccines ID Cards in the UK in the Mail Online. No photograph, no details, no way this can possibly be abused in anyway | | | | |
I think in Switzerland, abuse can't be the case, as we have a 'Impfausweis' since birth, I presume the vaccination will then be added to all the other inoculations we had. Also, people who were not vaccinated from birth, will then get a new Impfausweis, with the Covid-19 as their first and perhaps only entry.
