Original poster left interesting choices to discuss, so I selected the most controversial one to deal with. Outrage has begun.

| | Re: Covid Vaccine: Will you get it? | Quote: | | | | | Let's not. The photo I posted should be seen as a celebration of science and of the discovery of vaccinations and nothing else.
It wasn't obvious to you.
Back-tracking on your original remarks because of the wall of animosity you met when you posted early today does not make me believe you haven't changed your views.
What is actually your point? The OP left the open choices to make and everyone has a right to own opinion. Or would necessarily mean that Tom’s point of view is the only point of view.
Not surprised you haven't seen them.

Science is something else.

Science is something else. | | | | | In that case, the knitting club is the place to start.
Let’s see how these new molecules work for people in need first, and maybe then, like I said, I will make informed decisions regarding the vaccines without anyone’s forcing their point of views.

Anyone heard how this is going to work? Will you be automatically contacted when it is “your turn”? Do you have to some how indicate that you want the vaccination?

Would imagine that for the risk cases it will be in the hands of GPs to make their lists and prioritise, even if the GPs are not doing the vaccinations themselves (as seems likely with the Pfizer vaccine). Works that way for flu and I can't see any reason to try anything different.
Once the risk and priority cases are out of the way guess it will be nationally advertised.
But would be nice to know for certain!

Theoretically my husband should be amongst the first to be vaccinated so I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

My wife told me that her GP, whom she saw yesterday and is 70+, has no plans to do it in the near future, and prefers to see how it pans out.

ooops sorry, just seen Baboon's post above. | | | | | They’ve said they’ll start vaccinating from January 4th in Neuchâtel but they’re not going to receive a huge number of vaccines initially so I wouldn’t expect to be amongst the first to be honest.
I have an appointment on the 7th so I’ll ask then but I am assuming the doctors will go through their patient lists and contact the ones who are priorities pretty much the same as they do for the flu vaccine.

I was invited to participate in an immunity study by Travel Medicine at Uni Zurich. I go on Tuesday for my blood draw. In theory, I am high risk due to age and pre-existing conditions, past illnesses but we’ve really been careful about isolating. My husband will drive me so I don’t take the train. But anyway, I’ll ask them what they know. I see my doctors (oncologist, gyn) later in January and GP in Feb. who knows.
I’d be happy to take the vaccine, but I wonder that people who can’t limit their exposure so easily might be better candidates for the first shots.

Because in reality it makes zero logical sense.

Because in reality it makes zero logical sense. | | | | | No! It is what I hear some people around me saying. One example, on Saturday a Swiss guy at the gym was saying that the vaccine is coming so in 3-6 months life will be back to normal.
Another guy said that it will drag on for 2 more years.
Personally I don't know what to believe which is why I was curious to hear opinion of forum experts like you |
