Well yes but with your previous alarmist posts on many things Covid-related (such as the one on mask wearing duration the other day) it read more like an anti-vax 'OMG dont have a vaccine if you have antibodies' post. If that's not how you meant it then I think more words were maybe needed to clarify your position.
On CNN today it was reported that people who have been positive for Covid will maybe only need one injection.

Re: Covid Vaccine: Will you get it?

Had my second jab early this afternoon. In and out in 15 minutes!

No initial reactions. I’m feeling very happy that I have accomplished this.

I woke up to drink my morning tea and catch up on Covid news (I mean gossip) and found the Coronavirus thread locked
Mods, why did the Covid thread get locked Just because we are in lockdown does not mean the thread should go in lockdown too

So would you take Sputnik vaccine?

Sorry, I locked the thread accidentally while posting from my phone. I noticed a few minutes later and unlocked it again. It was closed for a total of 15 minutes. Apologies!

And no, I wouldn't take the Sputnik vaccine.

Even if Tony Clifton administers it with Putin next to him dressed as a female nurse?

Re: Covid Vaccine: Will you get it?

How many EF regulars got covid-19 immunisation so far en Suisse?

Do you feel guilty reading the stats? It occurred to me if/when I get the jab that not only will I be taking medicine that could have gone to someone else, but that take may cost them their life.

Of course it fail to take it and it could cost me my life, but then again I am only 50+ right now... although indirectly in the front life since the wife is a nurse dealing directly with covid cases.

I would not feel guilty at all. Each Kanton does stuff differently, and if your group is eligible, go for it.

If you don‘t get vaccinated, you will not only be able to spread Covid-19 and potentially kill others, but yourself too.

The whole point of vaccination is to stop it and the Cantonal authorities make the decision not you. So stop worrying and get it when you can...

I’ve had both doses and don’t feel guilty about it at all.

My GP put me forward for it as they deemed me an extremely high risk person and therefore eligible for it in the first group here. Based purely on my age I would be very far down the list.

This, this, this, and this.

Every vaccinated person brings us a little closer to a safe return to normalcy. So as soon as you are allowed to get the vax, do so - because you are helping the rest of us.

...and another thing: I heard last night of a friend here „en Suisse“ who was due to go in for a cancer op next Monday. His treatment has been delayed because of hospital overload due to treating Covid-19 patients.

Please get vaccinated when your turn comes...

Maybe, the jury is still out on that as it seems that those who get the vax can still pass it on, or even get COVID, the only real advantage is that it seems to reduce the severity.

There is no "downside" to your comment. Even if you can pass it on, at least YOU are not being admitted to the hospital, thereby decreasing the call for bed space.

The Jury may be still out, but that is because they don’t have the evidence ro consider. They simply do not know if the vaccine can still be passed on, or if getting COVID-19 is still possible.

Equally there is no evidence that vaccinated people can pass on the Virus or can still catch it. This evidence can only start to be collected around 40 days after the first injection.

No point arguing this as the evidence is not yet available.

My daughter, who is a chef at a retirement home, was by last evening and said that she knows of at least one person who got COVID (mildly) after the vax, as well as at least one other who passed it on to several but did not get it, thus she and half of the others she works with are waiting.

She also prefers to leave the vax for those more in need (i.e. higher risk).

Sorry Tom, this is apocryphal and almost certainly not accurate. No way would she be in a position to know who was and was not infected with the virus at any given time, and who has passed it on to whom.

Even if all the subjects were continually tested and retested through the elapsed time period, and she had access to the results, it would take some proper epidemiology to work out the spread, even within such a limited group. All else apart, there must have been some external contact to introduce the virus into the community, so how could anyone be sure there was only one such contact?

Re: Covid Vaccine: Will you get it?

And we know that during the period between the first injection and the 10 days after the second injection people remain susceptible. And then only 96%.

The first couple of weeks of injectees have completed this period. But this is only a fraction of the total population.

We will see what we see.
